The Gov had a chance to save H&W with the £200 million loan guarantee (both the Cons and Liebour( but our so called politicians walk away, yet now they want praise as savings H&W!!!
Hard working people lost investments as a result.
Absolute joke tbh, never trust a politician, but great to hear jobs have been saved.
The Australian Government aims to save $3 billion by replacing external consultants with the newly established Australian Government Consulting (AGC). Funded with $10.9M over two years, AGC promises strategic advice and organisational transformation from within the public service. While nearly 1,000 applications show strong interest, scepticism remains about whether AGC can deliver the anticipated savings and effectiveness. Having worked both sides of the fence, I worry that the lack of consistency in changing government policy continues to erode critical capabilities at a time when unity is needed.

As stated before, and as will be stated ad nauseam, defence ought to be defended.
In the West, in the modern day, the acceptance of the immorality of the defence industry is an opinion which has become status quo. Many take it as a given that the industry is immoral, including those who work within it. They believe that because the industry facilitates the potential to cause harm, it is necessarily evil. They turn the industry into a scapegoat due to their distaste for conflict and their loathing for public spending.
The general philosophy has become an assumption of the immorality of war as we further consider life through the lens of detached metaethical constructs as opposed to fundamental justified principle.
We believe that they are foolish. War can most certainly be moral, war can most certainly be good, and the defence industry facilitating the protection (and potential for correct action) is virtuous as a result. The industry that facilitates the most profound action that can be taken, but the industry that allows the fundamental security upon which societies (and as a result, everything that we hold dear) is built and sustained. Not only is it the foundation of civilisation, but it contributes to society far more widely in the development of life saving, protective and civilian use technology that has added enormously to the development of modern technological superiority.
Duty should not be seen as immoral because it requires sacrifice, and the action taken as a result of a burden of responsibility should be seen as honourable and not immoral.
Both conflict, defence and deterrence can be vessels for moral outcomes, the military and government facilitates all three, and the defence industry facilitates the military.
The dismissal of profound work to facilitate profound action should not be dismissed as immoral or inconsequential, it should be appreciated and built upon. The responsibility taken on by those in positions where they are asked to carry out their duty should be respected, and those that allow those people to do their duty should be seen as a moral agent.
Granted, the video is old, but it raises something important.

With the possibility in air that the ongoing air campaign by the #IDF against #Hezbollah will evolve into a large-scale combined arms incursion, the #attack decision-making will be quite different from the deliberate processes dominating the operation at this moment. Should such an escalation occur between the IDF and Hezbollah, observers should consider not only the applicable laws of armed conflict (#LOAC), but also how the nature of modern maneuver #warfare will affect how those laws are implemented, argue Geoffrey Corn and Ty Smotherman.
