Kelly Thought Her Application Was Perfect—Until It Wasn’t. Kelly had spent weeks crafting her #college #applications. She had double-checked every word, fine-tuned her essays, and thought she’d nailed the “personal story” colleges always ask for. But something felt… off. She was insecure. Still, she convinced herself it was fine. After all, she had good grades, impressive extracurriculars, and glowing letters of recommendation. Her parents decided to reach out and check in with me in the last-minute. And during the review, something surprising happened. Kelly hadn’t really answered the most important question although she had written paragraphs for that question, pouring her heart into it. This is a common mistake I see with many students. Even though they list their accomplishmens and describe the events, they miss the real question. Kelly too was focused so much on trying to seem impressive her application had become a checklist. After revisiting her essays and reframing her responses, Kelly submitted her applications and felt relieved of—ones that captured her voice and the moments that truly mattered. The difference was night and day. Here’s the truth: Many students, like Kelly, miss answering one critical question in their application—not because they’re careless, but because it’s easy to overlook the details without the experience. What about you? Are you absolutely sure your application does more than just tell your story? Does it connect the dots the way admissions officers expect? We’ll help you spot what’s missing before it’s too late. Because sometimes, a small tweak can make all the difference. 👉 Get your application reviewed and avoid Kelly’s mistake. #collegeapps

👩🎓☀️Is the California admissions deadline sneaking up on you? You've finished your early decision/early action applications, and have a few weeks of a breather before most Regular Decision ones (RDs) are due…😎 Don't forget about the UCs! The University of California's deadline is about a month sooner than most (though some other colleges have early Dec deadlines, too - be sure to check!) At the start of this month we shared our article "🎓 Getting Ahead: Early Application Preparation Tips! 🎓" Here's a look into what we covered. Drafting and Reviewing Application Essays Application essays are a vital part of a college application. Begin by brainstorming a variety of topics that highlight any personal experiences, core values, and long-term goals. Start drafting essays as early as possible to allow ample time for development. Seek constructive feedback from teachers, mentors, or family members who can provide diverse perspectives. Revise essays multiple times to ensure they are clear, engaging, and free of errors. Final drafts should effectively showcase a unique voice and personality, making a strong impression on admissions committees. Gathering Necessary Documents Gathering all necessary documents for college applications well in advance is crucial to avoid last-minute stress. Organize high school transcripts, standardized test scores, letters of recommendation, and any other required materials early in the process. Maintain both digital and physical copies of all documents for easy access and backup. Request official documents from the school at least several weeks before deadlines to ensure timely receipt. Keeping everything well-organized will help streamline the application process and meet all submission requirements. Keep reading here - https://lnkd.in/eBQGrxyJ
