When you have a giant remote control vehicle and a kinematic laser you don't need to go out on the river for R&D testing of your GPS denied environment positioning solution. Today we dusted off the Axolotl to test 20Hz robotic total station positioning merged with 100Hz fibre optical gyro heading, motion and velocity data for real time Riegl Mini-VUX HA laser positioning. Just a few more tweaks and we should be able to deploy this in the field for sub-centimetre position accuracy for our underbridge MBES and laser surveys.

Contouring a brief Topo / As Built survey for St. Modwen St. Modwen Homes Cummings Group. Spot levels taken using Topcon Positioning GB Hiper SR GNSS receiver and Topcon DS203 Total Station. Creation of a Digital Terain Model from those levels via Topcon Magnet software and then out-putting the contours at 50mm intervals.
