A young educator, she chose public schools as her canvas, painting futures with lessons of hope and knowledge. Teaching across four government schools – Udmari LP School, Deosal Govt JB LP School, Tegheria LP School, and Rowmari LP School – all within the Deosal Cluster of Morigaon district, Assam, she turns scarcity into strength, proving that passion is the greatest resource of all. Transportation to these schools presents challenges due to poor road conditions, requiring her to either walk long distances or rely on the kindness of fellow teachers for rides. She visits two schools with the help of other educators and independently reaches the remaining two schools accessible via the main road. In her journey to bring learning to life, Sushmita is shaping young minds to believe in the power of education. Through educators like Sushmita, Northeast Centre for Equity Action on Integrated Development - NEAID has inspired countless others, reducing dropout rates and increasing attendance across 278 schools in Morigaon, benefiting over 6,000 students. The devotion of the crowd was palpable, and the arrangements for elderly devotees, including wheelchairs and special lanes, were commendable. However, one aspect stood out—there seemed to be little to no arrangement for young children, who are equally vulnerable in such large crowds. 💡 Suggestions for Improvement: Child-Friendly Zones: Setting up designated areas where families with young children can rest would greatly help. Fast-Track Access for Families: Similar to arrangements for the elderly, families with children should also have priority access to avoid long waiting times. Safety Measures: Providing wristbands with contact details for children in case of separation could add an extra layer of security. Volunteers for Assistance: Deploying volunteers specifically to assist families with children would show inclusivity and care. While the experience was spiritually uplifting, it’s important that the temple management ensures every devotee, regardless of age, can participate in this divine journey comfortably and safely.
