🎄 Happy Christmas to those who are celebrating today. When we think of Christmas Eve the image of Father Christmas comes to mind. Father Christmas is the traditional English name for the 'personification' of Christmas also known as Santa Claus. 🎅 Learn more about Christmas gift-bringer: https://lnkd.in/eNe4UbSA. 🎇 Reflecting on Independence Day 🎇 For the Fourth of July holiday, it's essential to celebrate the values of freedom and independence that this day represents. However, it's also crucial to acknowledge that true freedom and justice have not been and are not always accessible to everyone in this country throughout our history. For many marginalized communities, the Fourth of July can evoke mixed emotions. It's a time to reflect on the progress we've made towards equality and recognize the work that still needs to be done. As we gather with loved ones and enjoy the festivities, let's also remember: - Indigenous communities who have lived on this land for centuries before the Declaration of Independence was signed. - Black Americans who fought for freedom and continue to fight against systemic racism. - Immigrants who contribute to our nation's diversity and strength. - LGBTQ+ individuals who have fought for and continue to fight for equal rights. - People with disabilities who advocate for accessibility and inclusion. Let's use this day as an opportunity to educate ourselves and others, to amplify marginalized voices, and to commit to creating a more just and equitable society for all. Happy Fourth of July to everyone who was celebrating, and may this day inspire us to strive for a future where freedom and justice truly are for all. I am weary of perpetually battling for my right to exist. It is already a struggle to navigate the complexities of being Black, transgender, a refugee, and a newcomer—our lives are disproportionately affected by these unjust policies. The rhetoric employed is misaligned with our realities and deliberately seeks to marginalize us. Historically, we understand that Black transgender individuals have faced violence, neglect, and persecution from both society and governmental entities. I refuse to retreat. We have overcome numerous challenges, and we will not be erased. Trans lives matter, and Black transgender lives matter. I will not remain silent any longer. #TransRights #TransLivesMatter #ProtectTransYouth #AlbertaTransCommunity #TransEquality #EndViolenceAgainstTrans #HealthcareForAll #StandWithTrans #TransVisibility #NoMoreSilence #TransIdentity #JusticeForTransPeople #FightForOurRights #WeWillNotBeErased #AlbertaPride

As we embark on Trans Awareness Month, I want to take a moment to reflect on the lives we’ve lost and the struggles we continue to face as a community. As an African American trans woman, I’ve experienced the harsh realities of a world that often fails to recognize our humanity and dignity. Each day, I carry with me the memory of friends and loved ones whose lives were cut short by violence and discrimination. This month is not just about raising awareness; it's a call to action. It’s an opportunity to amplify the voices of transgender individuals, to advocate for their rights, and to support initiatives that promote equality and justice. I urge all of us to engage in meaningful conversations, educate ourselves and others, and stand in solidarity with the trans community. Let us honor those we’ve lost by committing to create a safer, more inclusive world for all. Together, we can foster understanding, compassion, and change. Let's make this month a reminder of our collective strength and resilience. #TransAwarenessMonth #Pride #TransRightsAreHumanRights #Inclusion #Community

Today marks the beginning of Transgender Awareness Week. This is a time to promote trans visibility and increase our understanding of the issues members of the community face. It is a particularly worrying time for the trans community, so it is really important that we spend some time this Transgender Awareness Week building a genuine understanding, acceptance, and respect towards the transgender community. We will be sharing some ways we can all learn more about, and celebrate, the trans community and why this week is so important! At Good Together we have a transitioning at work policy, making sure that we have the infrastructure to support everyone who works for us and for people to bring their true selves to work. If you would like to find out more about our policy, please get in touch! #IStandWithTrans #TransgenderAwarenessWeek
