The stiffness analysis using the IDEA StatiCa Connection Module is a valuable and informative tool for determining the rigidity class of a steel connection.

Single-Plate Beam-to-Girder Connection Is there a requirement to use a full-height stiffener instead of a single plate connection at this location? If your answer is yes, in other words full-height stiffener is required because the end of the supported beam wants to rotate, and providing a full-depth shear stiffener helps to prevent the spandrel from twisting, you'd better read "Steel Interchange" in the AISC/Modern Steel January/2023. I'm a big fan of Larry Munir, PE. He taught the best steel connections course I've ever taken. https://lnkd.in/dJzwxKgQ

Hello LinkedIn family, I am back with a new video on Plate girder. It is very important to know about the behavior of plate girder who are especially working in steel design. I have discussed about the types of stiffeners including bearing stiffener, load carrying stiffener, torsional stiffener, diagonal stiffener and longitudinal stiffeners along with their function and importance. I love stumbling upon structural steel in various forms of media. It's always interesting to see how people who aren't familiar with steel choose to represent it. While playing Ghostwire Tokyo, I came across this fascinating structural steel setup. What are the splice plates for? What purpose do those stiffeners serve? Why are the W beams framing into a smaller HSS tube on top of a larger HSS column? I have so many questions.

😎 Blind hole rate comparison between stainless steel sintered mesh and sintered powder: Since the mesh holes of each layer of stainless steel sintered mesh are interlaced to form a uniform and ideal filtering structure, compared with sintered powder, stainless steel sintered mesh has almost no blind holes. And sintered powder has better sound-absorbing effect because of the presence of certain blind holes.

Hello LinkedIn family, I am back with a new video on Plate girder. It is very important to know about the behavior of plate girder who are especially working in steel design. I have discussed shear behavior of plate girder in which the critical parameters effecting the shear strength of plate girder. Concept behind providing stiffeners and physical meaning of shear buckling along with elastic critical shear stress. Tension field action is very critical once the buckling is initiated in the web. All these things in detail are discussed in the video. Video link: https://lnkd.in/gaSBpdKW

Hello LinkedIn family, I am back with a new video on Plate girder. It is very important to know about the behavior of plate girder who are especially working in steel design. I have discussed shear buckling design methods of plate girders which includes the simple post critical method and tension field method. Post buckling strength of the plate girders can be found using those methods and concept behind each method is discussed clearly. Don't forget to watch the video if you want to understand the behaviour of plate girders. Video link: https://lnkd.in/grEMMZAB
