United Nations Youth Office’s Post

In an era marked by challenges that threaten #OurCommonFuture — from escalating conflicts to environmental crises — it's more urgent than ever that we join together to raise our voices to push for urgent and inclusive change 🚨 We need world leaders and institutions to take immediate action to make global policymaking and decision-making spaces more representative of the communities they serve. Putting more diverse perspectives around the decision-making table is the only way to ensure we don’t continue to repeat past mistakes. Young people recognize this perhaps more than anyone else, as the generation that will live with the consequences of the decisions taken today. By championing intergenerational solidarity and finding innovative solutions even in the most challenging of circumstances, young people remind us that a better world is still possible 💪 That is why we are mobilizing young people and allies around the world in support of an open letter, letting world leaders know: It’s time to let #YouthLead ✊ Join the movement by signing the open letter & letting leaders know it’s time to #ActNow ✍️ bit.ly/LetYouthLead

Today's youth have immense potential to create a positive impact on the world. By engaging in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and through scouting, they can develop skills, foster community, and inspire change. The SDGs offer a framework for addressing global challenges, encouraging young people to be leaders in sustainability, education, health, and equality. Scouting provides opportunities for teamwork, outdoor skills, and civic engagement, empowering youth to take action in their communities.

Some people have lost faith in the idea of a better world, but one thing that helps me hold onto that hope is the knowledge that I am actively doing something to make the world a better place for everyone.

United Nations Youth Office I do believe that we can right the wrongs of the past by fixing and grooming young minds now to actively participate and see it as a personal as well as a collective responsibility to take action to make local and global change!!!
