This Christmas, let’s make a difference for foster kids and kinship families in Colorado by giving them the gift of technology. We’re collecting laptops to refurbish and distribute to foster children before the holidays—helping them access educational tools and opportunities they might not otherwise have. The Friends of the Salt Lake County Children's Justice Center - Helping turn trauma into resilience for over 3700 children (including their families) who have been victims of child abuse in SLC. had the privilege of serving as their PR manager for over a year. 2. Saprea - Liberating society from child sexual abuse and offering healing retreats for adult women survivors across the globe. They have helped over 5k women go through a retreat. 3. Live Your Dream - Founded by my friend Katie Bunnell LYD offers scholarships to single moms who need to elevate their income earning potential to support their families and live a more full, healthy and happier life. (Add my name to the donation for their record) 4. 100 Humanitarians International - Bringing sustainable lifestyle skills to Kenya to help girls and women stay safe through sustainability, confidence and community. 5. Tech-Moms - Bridging the gap between STEM and mothers who need to work to support their families. They’ve helped over 600 moms become certified in tech pathways. Let’s help these organizations out and support their missions to elevate the world. Together we can bring more joy and hope to the every day life of those they serve. Yea, today is the day where we are overwhelmed with appeals from organizations. It is an important day. But, supporting an organization, or a cause, is not just about what you give today, its about building better. A few days ago I re-posted an idea to rebrand non-profit organizations as social-profit organizations. This concept is ringing louder to me every day. The work of non-profit organizations- the staff, the funders, the beneficiaries-- is to create a better something: human, community, system, etc. Our society depends on these organizations.
