As we approach the Jubilee Year in Rome, set to commence on December 24th, 2024, and continue throughout 2025, it's important to consider the best time to visit Italy. For those thinking of visiting Rome next year: the Eternal City is preparing for an influx of 35 million pilgrims. While the Jubilee Year is a time of great spiritual significance and offers a unique experience, the massive crowds could impact your travel experience. Accommodations and transportation may be harder to come by due to the high volume of visitors and prices will be high. Major attractions like St. Peter's Basilica and the Vatican Museums will be exceptionally crowded. Entrance tickets for 2025 are already completely sold out for some attractions. The city is expected to be a vast construction site as it prepares for the Jubilee, which might affect the usual charm and accessibility of Rome's historic sites. If you're wanting to visit Italy and especially Rome in the near future, you might want to plan your trip this Fall. There are some great deals on tours and independent visits to Italy. Squeeze it in before the Jubilee starts or wait until 2026. DM me if you want to see what's available. #TravelTips #RomeJubilee2025 #PlanAhead #Europe #Travelagent #Visititaly #romeitaly

Did you know there's a hidden window in Bologna where you can catch a rare glimpse at some of the city's lost canals? Venice is usually the first city to come to mind when you think of canals, but Bologna has it's own history with these narrow waterways: Back in the 12th century, Bologna's canals spanned over 37 miles and were used for transporting goods and people throughout the city. After WWII, however, the majority of the canals were covered over with roads and parking lots. Today you can see one of the few last remaining historic canals through the secret "Canal Window" on Via Piella. Here's how to get there 👇 📍Bologna's Canal Window 5-9 Via Piella, Bologna, Italy 44.4986, 11.3452 Catch all the highlights of Bologna here: https://lnkd.in/ewzE3hbP #travel #tourism #travelindustry #didyouknow #tours

Some great tips of Laura Itzkowitz about the Jubilee!
Here in Rome, the countdown is on for the 2025 Jubilee (which technically kicks off this year on Christmas Eve). 35 million visitors are expected to descend on the Eternal City. So when Lyndsey Matthews at The Points Guy asked me to write about how to avoid the crowds in Rome during the Jubilee, I happily obliged. The biggest takeaway: don't even think about planning a last minute trip. Advance planning will be crucial for everything from hotel stays to tours and tickets at the city's biggest attractions. Many thanks to Elisa Valeria Bove of Roma Experience and Isabella Calidonna of ArcheoRunning for sharing their insights. https://lnkd.in/dMt4wsFj
