Green Business Building Summit Central Europe 🌍 It’s been a few months, but I’ve finally had the chance to revisit some of my recent activities and wanted to share one standout experience with you all! I had the privilege of attending the Green Business Building Summit in Warsaw, organized by McKinsey & Company. It was a truly inspiring event, filled with insightful discussions on sustainability and the future of green businesses in Central Europe. The conversations were incredibly enriching, and I’m excited to see how the green business ecosystem continues to grow and innovate. One moment that really stuck with me was Matt Burkholder's words about Tesla's vision for company growth. He emphasized that you should never say "no" and that sometimes it’s about doing the impossible before anyone even thinks of it. In today's fast-paced world, I think this approach rings true: You need to be faster and more proactive than your competitors. Sometimes it makes more sense to invest more upfront to launch early and capture your customers before someone else does. 🌍 Exciting News! 🌱 Philipp Ahrenkiel had the privilege of attending the 8th Sustainability Summit in Athens last week. Their insights on Re-inventing green leadership: Collectivity vs. fragmentation into regulatory frameworks and business practices were nothing short of inspiring! Meeting network partners Pavlos Greece, Prof. Christos Zerefos (Climate Envoy for Greece) and Daniel Morler to discuss the upcoming challenges and generating impact was great! It was an absolute privilege to host our members – Jean Smith, Pooja Saxena Bhatnagar, Nicola Mander, Claire Shepherd, Alexandra Braun-Woodbury - at our second Gaia event last night. Gaia creates a shared space for industry leaders, transformation experts and CC&S specialists to come together, collaborate on ideas and drive sustainable change. Last night our discussion focused on the importance of DEI&B in enabling environmental sustainability, social responsibility and good governance, recognising that diversity of thought, background, and experience leads to better decision-making and more innovative solutions, which ultimately impact the bottom line. Looking at global organisational trends, as well as the common pitfalls, lessons learned and success factors of navigating DEI&B, we identified collective and individual actions we can all progress to accelerate change within our organisations and beyond.   We are piloting this female-only led initiative to test the hypothesis that female-only groups effect change more quickly and it was amazing to see the progress that’s already been made across just two events. Interesting day at Reset Connect yesterday for some personal growth, learning about how to approach business / social / industrial / domestic #sustainability and the challenges to reaching #netzero, and beyond. Lots of learnings to weave into future business leadership... and my personal life too! From my perspective, not a huge amount addressed on the security, dependency strategy and secure supply chain issues in bringing sustainability technologies rapidly into many areas of critical national infrastructure and domestic infrastructure.
