We are accelerating our decarbonisation plan!💪 Vår Energi joins the Oil and Gas Methane Partnership (OGMP) to improve accuracy and transparency of methane emissions reporting.   For the first quarter of 2024 our methane emission intensity was 0.02% of exported gas from operated assets. This is far below the industry target of 0.2% by 2025. Nevertheless, further reduction is a key part of the road map we use as a guide in the effort to cut greenhouse gas emissions😀🌍. As we develop the energy of tomorrow, we remain committed to decarbonising and optimising the energy of today.   On the occasion of the "IEA-COP29 High-Level Event on Turning Methane Pledges Into Action", focused on the crucial need to reduce methane emissions, we announced the publication of the "Methane Report 2024" testifying how Eni has been leading for over a decade.   This report, our first one dedicated to methane, showcases the tangible actions we’ve taken to halve our methane emissions over the past six years and outlines our ambitious target of near-zero level by 2030.   We know our role and we continue to invest in innovation and partnerships to help deliver meaningful reductions across the oil and gas value chain.

On June 5th, H.E. Mohamed Hamel, Secretary General of the GECF, took part in a pivotal plenary panel in 29th Baku Energy Week titled "International Cooperation for Energy Security and Sustainability." The COP29 summit in Baku, Azerbaijan, will focus on a significant proposal to increase global energy-storage capacity more than sixfold by 2030. This initiative, called the Global Green Energy Storage Pledge, aims to reach 1,500 gigawatts of energy-storage capacity by the end of the decade, aligning with the #IEA International Energy Agency's recommendations to achieve emissions-reduction goals. #Energystorage #Energyeffeciency
