Supplier relationships remain strained due to a disconnect between suppliers' needs and what buying organizations perceive those needs to be. Despite this, more organizations across various industries are starting to recognize the importance of providing a best-in-class supplier experience as a key differentiator. Our latest survey gathered insights from 1,000 suppliers serving enterprise customers in the CPG, FMCG, Aerospace and Defense, and Energy sectors. We aimed to understand their experiences and identify their primary concerns and obstacles when working with some of the world’s largest organizations. “𝑊𝑒 𝑓𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑑 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑠𝑢𝑝𝑝𝑙𝑖𝑒𝑟 𝑒𝑥𝑝𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝑖𝑠 𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝑎 𝑝𝑟𝑜𝑏𝑙𝑒𝑚,” says Costas Xyloyiannis, HICX’s CEO. “𝐶𝑢𝑟𝑟𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑙𝑦, 59% 𝑜𝑓 𝑠𝑢𝑝𝑝𝑙𝑖𝑒𝑟𝑠 𝑟𝑒𝑝𝑜𝑟𝑡 𝑑𝑖𝑓𝑓𝑖𝑐𝑢𝑙𝑡𝑖𝑒𝑠 𝑖𝑛 𝑑𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑖𝑟 𝑏𝑒𝑠𝑡 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑚𝑎𝑗𝑜𝑟 𝑐𝑢𝑠𝑡𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑟𝑠, 𝑜𝑛𝑙𝑦 𝑎 𝑠𝑙𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡 𝑖𝑚𝑝𝑟𝑜𝑣𝑒𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑓𝑟𝑜𝑚 61% 𝑖𝑛 𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑝𝑟𝑒𝑣𝑖𝑜𝑢𝑠 𝑠𝑡𝑢𝑑𝑦. Squeezing Suppliers Doesn’t Advance Resilience by Costas Xyloyiannis I wanted to share some thoughts inspired by Costas on the topic of supplier relationships. While it might seem like squeezing suppliers on price is an easy win, it's actually counterproductive in today's uncertain landscape. Beating suppliers down on price just doesn’t work in today’s uncertain landscape. Now Businesses need resilience, and if they only use suppliers to cut costs, they’ll find themselves in a bind. This doesn’t mean suppliers should be excluded from savings strategies. In fact, suppliers can offer a host of value and cost-saving opportunities. Suppliers bring more to the table than just cost savings. They provide quality ingredients, compliance information, innovation ideas, and much more. Better communication with suppliers means happier suppliers and a better chance of achieving that coveted customer-of-choice status. When suppliers and buyers work together, they can find cost savings and set ambitious goals guided by a shared vision of "Success Criteria." This collaboration helps manage risks and opportunities, leading to a more resilient partnership, and this is what I supply to my clients. Manufacturers and buyers who recognize the need for change and improve their data and communication with suppliers can explore cost-saving solutions without compromising their competitive edge. This is precisely what we focus on at PCX. We're not just about providing quotes; we solve problems and deeply understand our customers' needs, going beyond transactional interactions to deliver strategic results. Let's keep striving for excellence and resilience in our supplier/buyer relationships! #PCX #article #strategic #supplier #buyer #manufacture #resilience #commitment #success #trustedpartners #creatingrelationship

"In Sourcing, Your Relationships Are Your Real Inventory" 📲 In the world of supply chain and sourcing, success isn’t just about finding the cheapest supplier or closing deals quickly. It’s about building lasting relationships that drive long-term value. Here are a few things I’ve learned over the years that can make a big difference: Price Isn’t Everything Yes, cost matters, but reliability and quality often have a much greater impact on your bottom line. Focus on suppliers that can consistently deliver, even when times are tough. When you find them, nurture those relationships. Diversification Mitigates Risk Relying on a single supplier or region for your critical goods is risky. Spread your sourcing across multiple vendors and locations to hedge against disruptions like we’ve seen in recent years. Negotiate With Transparency Negotiation isn’t a battle, it’s a partnership. Be transparent about your goals, challenges, and expectations. This builds trust and can result in better terms and collaborations down the road. Data is Your Best Ally Rely on more than just gut feeling. Leverage data to forecast demand, optimize stock levels, and anticipate potential disruptions. Technology and analytics should be a key part of your sourcing strategy. Adaptability is Key The world of supply chain is constantly changing. Whether it’s new regulations, technology advancements, or shifting customer expectations, the ability to pivot quickly can mean the difference between thriving and struggling. Remember: sourcing is not just about products, but about people, processes, and partnerships. Invest in these areas, and you’ll see stronger, more resilient supply chains that can weather any storm. 🌐📦 #SupplyChain #Sourcing #Logistics #Procurement #BusinessAdvice 🌎
