NEW REPORT! The CEP's latest report "State CCDF Plans: Levers to Expand Access, Enhance Quality, and Advance Equity" provides nine overarching recommendations for CCDF Lead Agencies to leverage the CCDF 2025-2027 Plan to address dimensions of access, quality, and equity and to better reach eligible children and families in low-income households through subsidies, especially those who have been historically and contemporarily marginalized, including Black, Indigenous, Latine, Asian, and other children of color; children with disabilities; emerging bilingual children; and children from under-resourced communities. We highlight sections and questions throughout the Plan in which states and territories can thoughtfully develop targeted strategies and activities. These recommendations can also be used to guide amendments to the 2025-2027 Plan. Read it here: https://lnkd.in/gsd7wQs9

When you care about something, you must speak on it to preserve it. As chairperson of the Achieving Academic Equity and Excellence for Black Boys (AAEEBB) advisory council, I appreciate my #AAEEBB colleagues and community offering public comment at the recent MSDE board meeting. With a topic as pressing as our boys, it is critical that there are stakeholders lending their voices to share and contextualize the investment, impact, and importance of this area of work. https://lnkd.in/eB--mpbE

Celebrating Juneteenth: A Call for Prevention, Education, and Recovery As we celebrate Juneteenth, NCADD stands in solidarity with the African American community. This day is a symbol of freedom and hope. Yet, the journey toward true liberation continues, especially in the fight against substance use. Did you know? -African Americans are 1.5 times more likely to be arrested for drug-related offenses compared to the national average. -Despite similar rates of substance use, African Americans have less access to treatment services. -Only 10% of African Americans in need of substance use treatment receive it. Our Commitment: At NCADD, we are dedicated to promoting prevention, education, and recovery in African American communities. We believe in equal access to the resources needed for a healthier future. Join Us: -EDUCATE: Spread awareness about substance use and its impact on our communities. -PREVENT: Support programs that provide early intervention and preventative care. -RECOVER: Advocate for policies that ensure equitable access to treatment and recovery services. Let’s honor Juneteenth by empowering each other toward a brighter, healthier future. Together, we can make a difference. #Juneteenth #NCADD #TogetherWeCan

Amidst the backdrop of the 2024 Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) final rule and a revised 2025-2027 #CCDF Plan template, Lead Agencies have a timely opportunity to operationalize accessible, quality #ECE for children and families in their #childcare systems, especially those from historically and contemporarily marginalized communities. In this brief, The Children's Equity Project provides 9 concrete overarching recommendations for CCDF Lead Agencies, state #earlychildhood partners, and community champions to leverage the CCDF 2025-2027 Plan to address dimensions of access, quality, and equity and to better reach eligible families in low-income households through subsidies, with particular attention to those who have been historically and contemporarily marginalized, including Black, Indigenous, Latine, Asian, and other children of color; children with disabilities; and emerging bilingual children. The report highlights specific sections throughout the Plan in which states and territories can thoughtfully develop targeted strategies and activities. These recommendations can also be used to guide amendments to the 2025-2027 Plan. https://lnkd.in/gj5exzM3
