A timely reminder from the Wellbeing Project about the importance of funders investing in the wellbeing of social and human services sector staff. Key examples listed include increasing core support (while minimizing time consuming admin complexities) and offering significant multi-year grants to allow non-profits to identify the best ways to care for their teams. https://lnkd.in/g35Ew2hZ

True change happens through consistent, tangible actions. That’s why we’ve launched our #MonthlyDayofGiving: every month, our employees are granted 8 working hours to dedicate to charitable activities, choosing causes and organizations that reflect their personal values. We will also give public voice to these initiatives, soon. These hours allow us to make a difference continuously, supporting communities and driving positive change. Because sustainability isn’t just about the environment, it’s about redistributing value where it matters most: to people and communities. 💚 #RevalueEnergies #GivingBack #DayOfGiving #SocialSustainability #RevaluePeople #SocialImpact #CommunityImpact #RevalueOurFuture

Can Your Mission Move People? In the world of nonprofits, people want to feel a personal connection to the cause. The best missions aren’t just heard; they’re felt. Key Ingredients of a Compelling Mission: • Clarity: Can someone understand your purpose in one line? • Urgency: Does it feel like something that matters right now? • Inspiration: Do people feel motivated to join in or support? Challenge Yourself: Can you sum up your mission in a sentence that gives people goosebumps? When people feel your purpose, they’re more likely to support and stay. #missionawareness #nonprofitimpact #creatingchange #inspiredsupport #purposefulengagement #empoweringothers #missionmatters

This marks a significant moment in strategic philanthropy. MacKenzie Scott intends to move beyond traditional grant-making by investing in for-profit companies that align with her philanthropic mission. This trend reflects a broader shift in philanthropy, where efforts aim not only to improve lives but also to drive transformative change that extends far beyond conventional non-profit granting.
MacKenzie Scott is out with her report on her 2024 giving. The bottom line: more than $2 billion in giving to 199 organizations, bringing her total philanthropy over five years to more than $19 billion. This year's gifts reflect some changes to her approach: among other things, she announced a decision to move her investments into alignment with her social-impact goals, meaning she'll back for-profit businesses and funds that aim to improve health care, affordable housing, and more. https://lnkd.in/eK8gYzUa

Trust is at an all-time low in our country. Because trust is at the core of philanthropy efforts, it is imperative that health care philanthropy teams address this unfortunate trend. A lack of trust leads to patients not seeking care, not believing they are receiving the best care possible, not investing in their hospitals for fear their money won’t be used wisely and even unwillingness to help neighbors to effect change for the better. There is, however, encouraging news. Those of us in philanthropy can combat this growing trend of distrust and move the needle to a more positive state. We are natural connectors and relationship builders. Let’s use our innate skills to turn this trend around. It’s #GivingTuesday and whether you give your time or money, every bit makes a difference. I personally wanted to highlight The Brooklyn Hospital Center, where today I started as a patient visitor volunteer. Since 1839, TBHC has operated independently, providing outstanding care to everyone—regardless of ability to pay. Safety net hospitals like TBHC are more than healthcare providers—they’re investments in community stability and success: • They ensure access for all— easing pressure on other parts of the healthcare system and keeping the broader network efficient • They promote public health— offering preventative care and managing chronic conditions which helps build healthier, more productive workforces • They drive economic stability— creating jobs, supporting local economies, and keeping communities resilient Supporting institutions like these isn’t just compassionate—it’s a smart investment in community and workforce success. Consider starting today via Every.org a fee-free, nonprofit platform that helps everyday giving go further. #GivingTuesday #Community #Philanthropy
