🏆 It’s Not About the Award, It’s About the Impact 🏆 When I was 19, My Grandpa Joe received the Thomas Jefferson Servant Leadership Award—a symbol of outstanding public service. Holding it in my hands, I remember being in awe and asking my grandfather, “Grandpa, how can I win an award like this?” We’ve all had those moments, haven’t we? Moments where we look at something inspiring and wonder, “How can I achieve that?” My grandfather’s response was simple but profound: “Mike, it’s not about the award. It’s about the impact. You have to make serving others part of who you are.” That wisdom changed the way I view success. It’s not about recognition or trophies—it’s about the lives we touch, the difference we make, and the legacy we leave by serving others with authenticity and purpose. So today, I encourage you: Focus on the impact. Lead with service. Make a difference not for the applause but for the lives you uplift. The true reward isn’t the award—it’s knowing you’ve made a meaningful impact in the world. #ServantLeadership #MakeAnImpact #LeadWithPurpose #MichaelPopeSpeaks #Inspiration #Live2LeadJamaica

Are you a servant leader? The servant leader is someone who prioritizes the needs of others before their own and focuses on the growth and well-being of their team and their community. The concept of servant leadership turns the traditional leadership model upside down; instead of the people working to serve the leader, the leader exist to serve the people on their team, in their organization or in their community. #NonprofitLeadership #CommunityService #ServantLeadership
Board-Certified Pediatrician | Healthcare Executive | Visionary Leader | Healthcare and NonProfit Transformation | Community Champion
Last week, Elona Deprez and I had the distinct pleasure of lunching with the remarkable Marygrace Billek, the recently retired Director of Human Services for Mercer County Administration. MaryGrace continues her journey of service as a board member of the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen and the Princeton Area Community Foundation. As we shared stories over lunch, I was reminded of the power of “servant leadership,” a philosophy that MaryGrace embodies so fully. It’s about leading with heart, focusing first on the well-being of the community and the people within it. Her dedication inspires those around her, including myself, to lead in a manner that prioritizes the greater good. Thank you, MaryGrace, for showing us that true leadership is about service and making a difference in the lives of others. Your legacy inspires us all to contribute more passionately to our communities! #Leadership #CommunityService #ServantLeadership #Inspiration #HumanServices #SocialImpact

Lara Abrash’s journey is proof that even failure can be a stepping stone to greatness. Early in her leadership career, nothing went as planned. Instead of giving up, she embraced the lessons, grew from the experience, and rebuilt her confidence. Today? She’s Chair of Deloitte US. Her story is a perfect example of vulnerable leadership. Instead of avoiding failure, Lara chose to rise from it.
