This holiday season, we celebrate the gift of knowledge—the stories that inspire, the lessons that transform, and the ideas that challenge us to grow. As we gather with loved ones, let us reflect on the power of teaching and learning to shape brighter futures. At Universal Write Publications, we are honored to support educators, scholars, and lifelong learners who seek to uplift their communities and amplify diverse voices. Every page turned is a step toward understanding, every word written is an act of transformation, and every lesson shared is a legacy in the making. May your holiday season be filled with joy, reflection, and the inspiration to keep creating, learning, and sharing knowledge that makes a difference. Together, let’s continue to build a world where education and stories remain at the heart of progress. From our family to yours, we wish you peace, creativity, and boundless curiosity this Christmas. #merrychristmas Sage #uwpbooks #wewilltellourownstory Dr. Ayo Sekai, Ph.D. #blackvoices #christmas2024

As a futurist, it's no wonder that I’m frequently asked about the future: What will it look like? How can we and our kids prepare for it? What skills should we acquire to stay relevant? There are many uncertainties. One individual cutting through this fog is Scott Galloway, whose book 'The Algebra of Happiness: The Pursuit of Success, Love, and What It All Means' I have anticipated to read. Though I may not be the core demographic, having passed the 50-year mark, Galloway's attempt to outline the fundamental algebra of a happy life is intriguing. From our finances to our health to our relationships, he offers lessons through anecdotes from his own experiences. Admittedly, the book may come across as basic to some of you here at Linkedin, yet I can't help but applaud Scott for taking the time to engage in a debate about the future with his young audience—a debate often left to influencers with varying degrees of dubious opinions. This is particularly true for young men, a group Galloway is deeply concerned about in the future. In many ways, this is a book I wish I had read when I was younger, but more importantly, it's a book that should inspire thought-leaders to write more for the youth in general. Nothing less. Get started. How else will they be inspired about the future if left to the whims of questionable voices in society?

One of my best friends Maya Pace and one of the greatest people I know just launched a new fellowship for those working on "relational changemaking" on college campuses in the US. This could include students, faculty, or staff! If you're interested, definitely check out the application linked below and feel free to reach out to Maya directly at maya.pace48@gmail.com if you have any questions. --- Turning Towards Overview Our changemaking spaces are rife with despair, helplessness, and hopelessness. In the urgency of action, we rarely have time to step back, to review our strategy and its broader implications, to do our own internal work and identify where our biases and assumptions are clouding our perspective, and to expand our options for changemaking on a collective and individual level. The Turning Towards cohort is a learning opportunity to bolster our capacity to mobilize relational change. We are inviting pairs of people (students/faculty/staff) from up to 5 colleges and universities across the country who are working to make progress on an issue of identity via a relational, reparative frame to join the experience. Join us. Applications can be found on our website (https://lnkd.in/ehRUsYnz) or at this link (https://lnkd.in/eqj8R9dy), and are due on October 25. Please email or schedule time with Maya Pace if you have any questions.

March is National Reading month, it's important we advocate the importance of reading within our communities. The book I have read this month was The Top 10 Distinctions Between Millionaires and the Middle Class by Keith Smith. The importance of this book is not about income differences between these classes, rather the distinct mindsets between them. Something that stuck out was that millionaires ask themselves empowering questions while the Middle-class do not. So I leave you with this: Instead of asking "Why does this happen to us" let's begin asking "How can we grow and learn from this?". We have to build a culture that empowers people to be the best version of themselves.
