If this is the case when somebody goes on a Holiday, you still have some work to do ;) Dependency on individuals (and single point of failure solutions) in your business when it comes to core processes is highly risky. Still very common in IT though because; well, it's cheaper not to be redundant.
It's usually resolved by expecting (demanding) the responsible person to be "always on", which is a unhealthy situation. Not just for the person itself, but for the business as well. It puts a break on growth / continuity / innovation and more.
Are your systems / processes / connections / people redundant? Is it clear, is a plan B always in place? Do we know what to do when "X" win's the lottery and suddenly leaves tomorrow?
