SHORTCUTS AREN'T ALWAYS BAD! There's nothing bad in wanting to clear your education in the shortest duration possible. If you look at it, it takes 4-year Undergrad (Bachelors) and 2-year Postgrad (Masters) degree to complete your education. By the time you're done, market saturation leaves you not much options than going for pocket qualifications and additional certification that take up a minimum of 2 years. Spending 6+ years on getting your education seems like a pretty long route compared to the shortcut that ACCA offers its students. As an ACCA student, you can complete your Undergrad and Postgrad within 4 years tops, saving you 2 years with an international certification. That's a SNATCH!!! Alarming situation regarding professional accountancy field. This field is now becoming worthless day by day because of oversupply by accountancy bodies like icap/acca/icma. Business institutions like Mirchawala Institute SKANS School of Accountancy PAC Group Of Colleges are making extensive advertisements to join professional accountancy and are making huge profits. Job market is already saturated and being offered lower wage rates by employers because they are having many c.v's on table. icap & acca is making lot of money and not considering devaluation of certification. There are 75,000 students are enrolled with icap which is like drama. 48000 are enrolled with acca only in pakstan. There is no watchdog to give shut up call. This is the time to regularise it further to save the institution's worthiness. There are being awarded massive exemptions to attract herds. PMDC & HEC Pakistan set limited seats for MBBS & LLB aspiring students to save the existing professionals and profession itself. Likewise these accountancy bodies should rethink their policy and make further stringent requirements to qualify the qualifications. New elected councils should raise voice regarding these concerns.
