YPI opens young people's eyes to issues in their communities and charities addressing them. It includes a diverse range of life experiences and confidence levels among teams. YPI is student-led, so charities cannot proactively contact schools to request being chosen. Young people develop a creative and convincing presentation to secure funding, demonstrating the impact of the £3000 grant on the charity’s local offerings. Students tell the local story of the charity and bring to life the social issue it addresses. Expect to be interviewed in person or digitally and provide facts, figures, and human-interest stories.
