The government has launched a comprehensive review of the National Curriculum, and this is our chance to ensure agriculture and horticulture are properly represented in schools. Having grown up in the Republic of Ireland, where agriculture is taught as a science subject, I've seen firsthand the positive impact this can have on students' understanding of food production, sustainability, and career opportunities in our sector. In an open letter from Richard Longthorp, a collaboration of key stakeholders including The Institute for Agriculture & Horticulture, AHDB - Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board,Lantra,The Country Trust, Fresh Produce Consortium (FPC) LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming) The Chartered Institute of Horticulture The National Federation of Young Farmers' Clubs is asking for your evidence that could contribute to the submissions for evidence. We need your input to make it as comprehensive and impactful as possible. This is our opportunity to showcase the innovative, high-tech nature of modern agriculture and its crucial role in addressing climate change and food security.
