API’s new Five-Point Policy Roadmap is a plan to help reduce inflation and bolster America’s energy leadership role. In a new op-ed, API President and CEO Mike Sommers explains key actions that Americans should be looking for during tomorrow’s presidential debate. The API roadmap contains commonsense steps that all Washington policymakers can take to protect America’s energy advantage. For example, instead of enforcing strict mandates to completely switch energy sources, we should protect consumers and ensure our abundant oil and natural gas resources are reliable and affordable. https://lnkd.in/gGMTnRuT

📰 HARRISBURG – State Sen. Gene Yaw (R-23), chair of the Senate Environmental Resources and Energy Committee, issued the following statement in response to Gov. Shapiro’s energy plan announced earlier today: “While touting Pennsylvania’s legacy as an energy leader that once fueled the industrial revolution, Gov. Shapiro appears to be adopting the same misguided policies of his predecessor by imposing a RGGI-like, job-killing carbon tax on electric generation and other mandates. The Governor left out the real crisis we are facing in the next 10 years - the generation of baseload electricity... ...We should not be apologizing for our energy generation and continuing to entertain misguided, misinformed, and reckless policies that don’t look at the big picture. In less than a decade, demand will exceed our generation capacity. We need to address the shortfall, not ignore it.” (Read More ⬇)

The new leadership of Senators Mike Lee (R-UT) and Martin Heinrich (D-NM) as Chair and Ranking Member of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee is a pivotal moment for the future of geothermal energy. Both senators have been instrumental in championing bipartisan legislation like the Geothermal Energy Optimization (GEO) Act, which supports innovation and streamlines development in geothermal energy. At Eavor Technologies Inc., we believe geothermal can play a critical role in driving the energy transition forward, making the grid more resilient, and strengthening America’s energy independence. We look forward to working with these leaders to help unlock geothermal’s full potential and help drive meaningful progress toward a cleaner, more autonomous energy future. https://lnkd.in/gyjp-AUy

“The common thread in the thinking on energy expressed by both Chris Wright, CEO of Liberty Energy, and Doug Burgum, Governor of North Dakota, is that they want to boost production of all types of energy, including fossil fuels. They do not deny that human-caused climate change is a real threat that needs to be addressed. But they argue that there are other priorities for policy that are more important and more urgent, and that oil and gas can continue to play the central role in the global energy system into the indefinite future. “If they get to take the reins of energy policy-making under the Trump administration, they will undoubtedly aim to help the oil and gas industry in every way possible. But several low-carbon sectors could also benefit, or at least not be hit as hard as they might have feared. (. . .) “One sector that could be particularly favoured under the new administration is gas-fired power generation. President-elect Trump said in the statement announcing Governor Burgum’s nomination that he wanted to ‘undo the damage done by the Democrats to our Nation's Electrical Grid, by dramatically increasing baseload power.’ “That will certainly mean acting on his pledge to scrap President Biden’s emissions rules for power plants, which could potentially have ended up forcing gas-fired generation to shut down. But he could go further. A national version of the Texas system that subsidises gas-fired power plants is possible.” #energy #energyindistry #energypolicy #oilgas #natgas #naturalgas #hydrocarbons #LNG #carbon #pipelines #permitting #shale #shalegas #exports #trade #electricity #power https://lnkd.in/gQ9PMx8Y

Ken Paxton fights to keep the lights out in Texas! ERCOT has all that renewable power bottlenecked out in West Texas and Paxton wants to keep it off the eastern power grid! Now FERC may or may not be successful in releasing that power by helping to get more power lines installed. It is still possible to do a lot by re-conductoring the existing mains with modern high conductivity copper and aluminum lines with active GETs (Grid Enhancing Technologies) and with double ended storage (storage on both sides of the existing bottlenecks.) So Paxton may be successful in helping to squander more of Texas' public funds and customers household budgets due to outrageous demand charges. Yes he is likely to be successful in promoting more of those inefficient expensive and instantly obsolete natural gas peakers his buddies are selling... But long term he is doomed to failure because it may be harder to get there without more mains and with more and more opposition created by tricky astroturfed NIMBY groups fighting against any new right of ways. But they can't stop distribution from upgrading existing mains! Paxton is just as obsolete as those new gas peakers he wants to force customers to pay outrageous rates to use! https://lnkd.in/gN2P_x3Q
