Life can be tough, but believing in yourself can make all the difference! -Here’s my story: I’ve had an incredible professional journey. My life seemed perfect, but underneath it all, my health was crumbling. During my third year of fellowship, my heart rate skyrocketed to 200 while seeing a patient. Ironically, it was the patient who asked if I was okay. Rushed to the emergency room, I discovered I had an abnormal heart rhythm and a mild heart attack. This was a wake-up call that changed everything. As a doctor, I had neglected my health. Focused on achieving professional success, I let my waistline expand and my health deteriorate. This “shock” forced me to reevaluate my life. I made a promise to myself and my kids that I would be healthy and present for them as they grow up. Determined to make a change, I immersed myself in books, podcasts, and YouTube channels about health and nutrition. It was time-restricted feeding that finally worked for me. Over three years, I lost 50 pounds and got into the best shape of my life. -My journey taught me: *The biggest battles are within ourselves. *Believing in your ability to change is key. *You can be your worst enemy or your best friend. *Choose to support yourself, prioritize your health, and strive for balance. It’s never too late to turn things around. What's one step you're taking today to prioritize your health? Share in the comments below. #drpal #journey #workout

✴ RIVER HOPE COMMUNITY ✴ Maintaining good health is often considered invaluable because it enables a fulfilling life, both physically and mentally.Without good health, pursuing other aspects of life becomes challenging..... In moments of tranquility, you might express it as "solace within" encouraging introspection and inner reflection. #reflectwithin Choosing a right inner location is crucial for charting a new course in life... Where were you within yourself that led to your current state of being? #PresentStateJourney #presentmoment Absorb the lessons that you cannot find in a book or online, and integrate them into your unique perspective... What you conceive in your mind has the potential to manifest into reality Is your mind attuned to the beauty that surrounds you #naturalelegance If memories of pain linger for two decades, they may have already solidified within you It impedes the ability to gain perspective on your life #LifePerspectiveGain Engage in practices that liberate the mind and body, allowing the release of accumulated tension and thoughts. 💪 Every journey has its ups and downs, and that’s okay. When it comes to weight loss, staying motivated can sometimes feel tough, but remember that it’s perfectly normal for your motivation to ebb and flow. What’s important is to keep your “why” close to your heart—whether it’s for better health, more energy, or just feeling good in your own skin. Celebrate the small wins, like choosing a nourishing meal or taking a walk. Every step forward, no matter how small, is progress. Surround yourself with people who lift you up, and take time to visualize your success. Imagine the joy and pride you’ll feel when you reach your goals. You’re stronger than you think, and this journey is about being kind to yourself along the way. - Set Specific, Achievable Goals: Break your weight loss journey into smaller milestones and celebrate each achievement. - Track Your Progress: Use a journal or app to monitor your progress—seeing your improvements can boost your motivation. - Surround Yourself with Support: Connect with a community that shares your goals, whether it’s online groups, friends, or family. - Visualize Success: Picture yourself reaching your goals and how great it will feel. This mental imagery can keep you focused. Remember, while motivation may fluctuate, your commitment to your health should remain strong. Keep pushing forward, and know that every step you take brings you closer to your goals! 💪 Need help staying motivated? What does your life span vs. your health span mean? Life span is the total number of years we have to live whereas health span looks at the 𝘲𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 of those years. This is important to note because I don't know about you, but I don't want to just live long, I want to live long 𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘭. How cool is it that movement and exercise WILL improve our health span to optimize our lifespan through no matter what life has thrown at us?! With illness, disease, injuries, depression, physical and mental setbacks, etc. The great thing is, it is never too early OR too late to begin adding in movements to help our bodies feel better! If exercise is something you are not familiar with, start off small, soon you might find yourself wanting to do more! What are you doing right now to make sure these two spans are in line with each other? Comment below! If you are local to the Salt Lake City area, come train with us! Do you ever feel like you're holding yourself back, even in subtle ways? What if your beliefs are limiting not just your mindset but your physical health too? Have you considered how your ability to give and receive affects your well-being? The upper limit issue, as Gay Hendricks discusses, is about the invisible ceiling we place on ourselves. It’s not just about belief; it’s about how these beliefs impact our ability to digest and receive—literally and figuratively. If you're constantly giving and not receiving, this imbalance can even affect your health. Think about it: if you’re always running out of energy, not taking care of your health needs, and constantly giving, you may be missing out on vital nutrients or the benefits of true rest. This can lead to others needing to take care of you eventually—the very thing many of us givers try to avoid. "To truly nurture yourself and others, you must first be willing to receive as much as you give." Do you also experience this? Share your thoughts with me! #UpperLimitIssue #HealthAndWellness #MindBodyConnection #BalancedLiving #SelfCare #HolisticHealth #NutritionalAwareness #ReceiveAndGive #WellnessJourney #VitalityAndHealth
