🚀 The Art of Combining Architecture, Innovation, and Sustainability 🌍 As an architect shaping projects across the globe, I've always believed that the intersection of architecture, innovation, and sustainability is where the magic happens. When tasked with the Los Berrocalles Housing Development in Madrid, a project with 1,308 new apartments, commercial buildings, parking, and gardens, I knew we had to go beyond just creating spaces. We had to create possibilities. Inspired by the idea of DNA, where every element can be recombined for uniqueness, we approached apartment design with infinite modularity—giving people the freedom to shape their homes according to their needs. This concept not only promotes flexibility but also ensures sustainable living, as we minimize waste and energy use while optimizing resources for longevity. Every building tells a story. Every design offers a vision of the future. 🌱 I am always eager to collaborate on projects that seek to redefine what’s possible in architecture. If you're a company, investor, or construction firm with an appetite for transformative, sustainable designs, let’s explore how we can create the next masterpiece together. https://lnkd.in/dSH2f9-F #Architecture #Innovation #Sustainability #RealEstateDevelopment #UrbanPlanning #Construction #DesignThinking #FutureofCities #Housing #Collaboration #Madrid #BuildingExcellence

"It’s a different framework of thinking. It pushes you to do things that you wouldn’t have thought to do. It pushes you to evaluate spaces that you thought you didn’t like to see if you can make them work in a way that you do like. How little can I do to make this work?" Thought-provoking interview with architect Julie Eizenberg on the the importance of retrofitting and adaptive reuse of historic buildings. At SFN we agree that working under heritage constraints can be challenging but one that our team relishes in our commercial and residential construction projects. Often those buildings become your most memorable work. Via: ArchitectureAU #sfnbuild #residentialbuilders #commercialbuilders #heritage #adaptivereuse

Discover Ensemble: a unique blend of 31 dwelling units on a mid-block parcel in Altadore. Bisected by a utility right-of-way, the design solution was to embrace the site’s undevelopable land and create a wide pedestrian corridor framed by two separate buildings. The resulting space creates visual interest and connectivity, allowing for lush landscaping from street to site. Ensemble aligns with the Municipal Development Plan’s compact growth goals, diversifying housing options and fostering a pedestrian-friendly atmosphere on 33 and 34 Avenue SW. Additional design considerations include transitional setbacks and stepbacks to reduce mass and maintain a thoughtful interface with neighbouring properties. We are thrilled to collaborate with Australian Development Capital Brunsdon Studio and Breathe on the Price St Apartments project in Perth. This residential development is currently in the design phase, showcasing unique structural challenges and innovative solutions. The project includes one level of basement on a common podium, with the entire façade constructed of brick. To expedite construction and enhance the building's sustainability, we have opted for a non-load-bearing brick façade. This approach significantly reduces material usage compared to a traditional load-bearing brick structure, resulting in substantial material savings. Our solution not only accelerates the construction timeline but also aligns with our commitment to sustainable building practices. Our structural engineering services ensure that Price St will be both functional and aesthetically pleasing. By integrating advanced engineering techniques, we aim to create a design that meets the project's requirements while promoting efficiency and sustainability. The non-load-bearing brick façade is a testament to our innovative approach, balancing structural integrity with environmental considerations. We are excited to see Price Street evolve into a sustainable residential development that exemplifies cutting-edge design and engineering solutions.
