Parco Del Colle Oppio is a term study project in landscape and restoration studio consisting of three professors Barbara Tetti, Gabriele Chilosi and Benedetta Di Donato starting with an analysis part with Professor Di Donato, continuing adjustment and enhancement of vegetation species with Professor Chilosi and leading to a proposal program of restoration with Professor Tetti. The main aim of the project was about reading and reviewing the ancient history and modern design of the park (De Vico and Muñoz). Then, based on the Cesare Brandi theory, the program tried to recognize the context and enhance the identity and revoke the missed spirit of the place. In this proposal, there were two different phases including vegetation and architectural elements. In terms of constructions, it should be mentioned that apart from the changes in history from ancient era to the modern age, there were three significant structures related to the Nero, Titus and Trajan elements which affected the current situation and identity of the park too. In the final program, the grand tour of Italy specifically "Goethe in the Roman Campagna" became the main idea including a visitor of historic sites, background landscape and ancient elements. Erosion Control: Properly designed landscape shapes can prevent soil erosion by controlling water flow and wind exposure. Hills, embankments, and terraces help reduce runoff, protecting the soil. Biodiversity: Different landscape shapes support various ecosystems. For instance, wetlands, valleys, and meadows create diverse habitats for plants and animals, promoting #biodiversity.

Explore nature's living laboratory 🌿🔬 The Natural History Museum in London, one of the world's most famous scientific institutions, has just undergone a remarkable metamorphosis. The gardens, which are part of the building, have been extensively redesigned for the first time since the museum opened 140 years ago. This is not just a change in appearance, but more importantly the creation of a unique place that brings science, art and nature together. What sets this project apart? ✅ The gardens have been divided into several zones, each telling a different story about the evolution of life on our planet. This makes for a fascinating journey through time and space as we walk through them. ✅ It is not only a beautiful park, but also a place for scientific research. Children, scientists and volunteers can observe nature and conduct experiments here. ✅ There was a strong emphasis on environmental protection during the project. Appropriate materials were used and innovative energy-saving solutions were applied. Such carefully planned urban spaces are of great importance to the residents. Firstly, they provide an oasis of calm in the hustle and bustle of the city, offering a place to rest and relax. Secondly, they contribute to improving air quality and also become a refuge for local fauna. Finally, the educational aspects of the gardens allow residents to better understand ecosystems and the impact that climate change and urbanisation are having on them.
