You know the adage about the best time to plant a tree? Well what if a tree planted yesterday grows up to be the furthest human made tech currently operating beyond the influence of the sun? I read today that the flight team for NASA's Voyager I (currently exploring interstellar space) was successful in resolving a critical memory issue allowing them to continue communicating with it. There's a couple things worth noting here. Voyager I was launched in 1977, so it's 47 year old chip they're troubleshooting (and 1970's era tech). But what really got my attention was the highlighted headache for the team is that they have to work in delays because it takes time for a radio signal to reach Voyager I and for it to respond. The delay is 22.5 hours for Earth to reach Voyager I, 15 billion miles away. It's still communicating and fixable. And viewable here for those curious: https://lnkd.in/e_QNwyTp So if you're planting something--an idea, a conversation, a company--keep going. Apparently time and distance are quite solvable.

Ok. What we want to do is tap into the different possibilities of NASA Geolocation. Since we are focusing on Bio-Security first then NASA Geolocation into the Encyclopedia, we would have to look for all angles of Geolocation maybe with focal view or any other math. Well what do we do with the plants and trees Encyclopedias? Can we Neuron the story and dream while awake?

- Is it possible for humans in this lifetime to go to space? Not everyday you get a chance to talk to someone who has worked at NASA, and we made the most of it. A wonderful couple of hours with Sailesh Ramakrishnan of Rocketship.vc Space Tech Buffs, this one is for you. P.S - This is just a snippet. Link in comments for the full version. Again very interesting news about the use of astrobiology knowledge for new life based materials. This is also a kind of technology/biotechnology transfer.
Picture it: Astronauts living on the Moon or Mars in homes created from fungi. This is the vision Lynn Rothschild's team has for future, more sustainable space habitats. With her new NASA Innovative Advanced Concepts award, she will continue her work on using fungi to grow structures off-planet. https://lnkd.in/eNphwZJU

So many times, esp as a #HandsOnMommy and as a #HomeMaker, I struggle and wish we had people on the #DesignTeam so they could #empathize basis their #actualExperiences and then design something safe and useful, they sell as #Innovation Look around the home and you will find 1000 such stuff, esp in your kitchen! - The stainless steel pot with stainless steel handles (instead of rubber / plastic to protect us from burning our hands)- 90% times we’re cooking in a rush and need to have a safe way to take the curry off the stove!! - The even hotter cast iron pan with a long handle that’s red hot as you make dosa / roti - they give you an ugly glove kinda material that you supposedly can “strap on” when cooking n “strap off” when cleaning - neither is heat resistant nor helpful! It melts n is now a useless ugly thing stuck on top of the handle coming in the way as you wrap the kitchen towel on the handle to ensure you don’t have “3rd degree burns” every time you wish to feed your family dosa / roti on an otherwise healthy cast iron cookware - Glass / steel water bottles with cheap / flimsy plastic covers that break within a week of (ab)use at school! - The list goes on…… Goes on to prove how being “helpful” or being #Creativewithoutempathy actually jeopardises safety and well-being at many times - it reduces efficiency and effectiveness for the person, and could be certainly embarrassing even for #SallyRide Can you think of such inventions / innovations that are actually safety hazards just cos someone didn’t think this through from a consumer perspective!? #100TamponsFor7Days #InventionForTheSakeOfInvention #NotHelpful
Believe it or not this is a true story: Ahead of her 1983 space flight, which made her the first American woman to travel to space, NASA engineers suggested sending astronaut #SallyRide with 100 #tampons for a week-long trip. “No,” she later recalled responding, “that would not be the right number.” Just another example of why even one woman on a team makes a world of difference! Marcia Belsky, thank you for putting this story to song 🎶 #WomensHistoryMonth

As I lol 😂 at this post - my 15 year old son pointed out - those rocket scientists were ahead of their time 🕰️ : Leaders today talk about DE&I but back in 1983 those rocket scientists were walking the talk… Diversity - they had a woman 🚺 on the team Equity - they knew that without period products 🩸 on the rocket ship one member of the crew could/would be disadvantaged Inclusion - they went out and stocked that rocket 🚀 with tampons to create an environment where the one female team member would know she belonged. This is what #malealleyship looks like. Conversely just last week I was told by a female 🙋🏼♀️executive board member that: period products in the workplace are not something she could advocate for because periods are a private matter😅 This is not #womensupportingwomen. Periods are a biological fact. Those rocket scientists knew it and tried their best 💪 We as women need to be talking with our fathers, brothers, husbands and sons… I will begin my 50th journey around the sun ☀️ later this year and it is my mission that my daughters generation of women have period products in the workplace and do not have to suffer the indignity of improvising with toilet paper 🧻 If NASA could do it in 1983 it’s time everyone else did it don’t you think? #GenderEquality #LeanIn #womeninbusiness #Diversity #Inclusion #Sustainability #OrganicMondays #WomenSupportingWomen #Leadership #advance #zurich Organic Mondays
