We invite all who support assisted natural regeneration to join the Assisted Natural Regeneration (ANR) Alliance, an international multi-sector coalition of practitioners, researchers, decision-makers, organizations, and funders. It was created in 2022 with the support of World Resources Institute Brasil, Instituto Centro de Vida, Imazon, NICFI and Suzano. The ANR Alliance Strategy has four major components: 1) Build global and regional ANR Alliance platforms; 2) Communicate the opportunity and benefits of ANR practices; 3) Enable supportive policies, financing and incentive structures for ANR implementation both in countries across regions; 4) Build technical and research capacity to identify suitable conditions for ANR and monitor effective practices. Today I am attending an important Workshop organized by Network of Excellence on Land Governance in Africa -NELGA and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in Dar es Salam, Tanzania on Land Governance Issues in Africa. The Workshop is crucial for researchers to master the art of communicating their research findings to both academic and non-academic audience, using both traditional and social media platforms. Keeping it simple when communicating with non academic audience is key. Research is worthless if it is not shared with the right audience. There is no such a thing as a general audience in research findings disseminations

The Global Evaluation Initiative has released their latest Story of Change - Weaving stories, charting a course: Solomon Islands moves forward with strengthening their national M&E system
GEI is a global coalition of organizations and experts working together to support the strengthening of monitoring, evaluation, and the use of evidence in developing countries.
The journey towards improving evidence-based decision-making must start with local ownership, local customs, and local voices. GEI’s systems-based approach to strengthening national monitoring and evaluation systems always begins with understanding the local context and integrating cultural practices that work best for each country and community we work with. Our latest Story of Change demonstrates how leveraging local best practices led to greater and more meaningful community involvement in GEI’s Monitoring and Evaluation Systems Analysis (MESA) diagnostic in the Solomon Islands. 🚀 Central Europe for Excellence in Transportation Research Association 𝐂𝐄𝐄𝐓𝐑𝐀 launched 🚀 The 𝐂𝐄𝐄𝐓𝐑𝐀's ambition is to create a network of like-minded CEE researchers with an excellent research track record willing to mentor and support younger members in reaching that kind of research excellence. The objectives are: 🎯 To promote and support excellent research in CEE concerning transport and mobility issues. 🎯 To help scholars reach scientific excellence. 🎯 To provide a forum for CEE researchers with a common interest in mobility issues for ideas and researchers’ exchange, facilitation of collaboration and research impact acceleration. 🎯 To provide a platform through which transport research-oriented advocacy can be achieved e.g. in the context of data availability, policy impact or joint opportunities (policy advisory, funding, collaboration). To support efforts aimed at improving the quality of education of future transport professionals in the region. Last September, over 20 transportation researchers from Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) gathered at Jagiellonian University to launch this long-awaited initiative. The three founders of this initiative: Daniel Hörcher, Rafał Kucharski and Jacek Pawlak successfully gathered a forum with participants from Austria, Czechia, Hungary, Poland, Slovenia and Ukraine, who formulated and signed a Declaration of Intent. During this meeting, 𝐂𝐄𝐄𝐓𝐑𝐀's first Executive Committee was selected (Nejc Geržinič, Daniel Hörcher, Mirosława Łukawska, Monika Maciejewska, Jacek Pawlak). This will fuel this initiative towards future events, meetings and activities and reaching the ambitious objectives. The initiative has been supported by Jagiellonian University.

Time to put together the best set of materials to share with ResearchOps Community next Thursday! #InternationalResearchOps Over the past 16+ years, I've worked with various clients (with different needs, setups and so on) to help them understand their customers and markets on a global scale (47 countries and counting). I've collaborated with teams of various forms from every continent (though, admittedly, I still dream of a project with some penguins down in Antarctica! 🐧) My research experiences weren't always smooth sailing. I've faced my fair share of tough challenges and surprises along the way. One common myth I keep running into is that doing cross-cultural research is as easy as hiring a local team, adding a translator, and going through the motions. But in reality, there’s so much more to it. There are a lot more nuances in it which would affect the quality of your research output and outcome. The ups, downs and hard-earned lessons from these experiences have been invaluable. That's why I decided to write 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵 📖 so I can share these learnings and insights with others. My goal is to help others sidestep the mistakes I made and to help them minimise the challenges they might face when planning and executing international research, so they can get deeper, more accurate insights about international markets and local audiences. If this sounds interesting to you, I’d love for you to join the session! I’ll be leaving plenty of time for Q&A, so feel free to bring along any research challenges you’re facing! 📅 When: 21st Nov, 4 PM GMT 🔗 Register here: https://lnkd.in/ePbHm7-C (This session will be recorded and shared on the ReOp's Vimeo channel later - I'll share the link once it's available) Hope to see you there! 😊 #researchops #internationalresearch #culturalisation
We just posted the registration link to our next community call on Slack! Chui Chui Tan will be sharing a structured, step-by-step approach to cross-cultural research, emphasizing key nuances and common challenges researchers face in multicultural settings. Chui Chui, Director of Beyō Global, has worked with a wide range of clients, helping them gain deep insights into people from various cultural contexts and backgrounds. Join us on 21st November at 4pm UTC, as she shares her expertise in navigating the complexities of large-scale international research projects.
