U.S. Army Garrison Black Sea’s Post

Romania’s National Day, celebrated on December 1, commemorates the Great Union of 1918, when Transylvania, Basarabia, and Bucovina joined the Kingdom of Romania, forming the modern Romanian state. This historic event was formalized during the Alba Iulia National Assembly, symbolizing Romania’s unity, sovereignty, and the fulfillment of long-standing national aspirations. The day is marked with military parades, cultural events, and ceremonies, particularly in Bucharest and Alba Iulia, where national pride and heritage are honored. As partners and allies, USAG Black Sea joins in celebrating this important day by participating in joint ceremonies and events alongside Romanian military forces and government officials. These activities honor Romania’s history and reinforce the strong bonds between the United States and Romania. These celebrations highlight the shared commitment to security, cooperation, and the enduring partnership within NATO and beyond. Happy Romanian National Day!
