During the second session of Transport & Logistics M.E. Future-Proof Technologies Conference held recently in #Dubai, #conference moderator Lars Jensen asked the panellists about the rapid advances and “leap frogs” in #technologies like #AI and how would these advances - and the resulting redundancies - affect their #tech #investments in the near #future? Dr. Yvo Saanen, Director of Portwise, said generally speaking the #shipping and #ports industry was very conservative in adapting to #newtechnologies. And this was not because they were waiting for a better #technology but because they did not see any verifiable "business value" in the investment. Here are some updates from Dubai, where our business analyst, Zannah Walker, participated in the Intelak Hub accelerator program and at the second edition of ForsaTEK, an innovation event. ForsaTEK is derived from 'Forsa,' which means 'your opportunities' in Arabic. It also plays on 'technology' and the Emirates (code 'EK'). During the week, Zannah came across some different learnings:    🪞 It is not just about what you offer but who you are and, more importantly, who we are. To meet climate goals, we all need to move forward with a collective goal to redefine the future of travel for a more greener and cleaner environment. 🛠  Intrapreneurship is critical to achieving sustainability goals within current business units. Not only to improve productivity and efficiency but also to take us closer to minimizing greenhouse gas emissions without hampering operational efficiency. 🤝 There is no one solution to solving the stressing problem of reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This has to be done in tandem with other solutions to solve the different industry pain points. We want to thank Emirates Group, Dubai Airports Innovation team, and dnata for being top hosts for innovation and a great event. The ITS World Congress in Dubai was a remarkable opportunity to engage with road authorities from across the globe! At SkyToll, we proudly showcased our state-of-the-art tolling and ITS solutions, as well as the operational expertise we bring as part of ITIS Holding. 🚦 What were the key themes? The industry is undergoing a profound technological shift. In many countries, traditional toll plazas - which slow traffic and incur high operational costs - are becoming obsolete.
