Cocktails seem to be taking a cosmic turn this summer! 🚀🌌☄️ According to Food Dive, drinkers are looking for more adventure and escapism than ever in their choice of cocktail, and boy, are some brands rising to the challenge with celestial themes that are taking their offerings, 'out of this world'. Take Pegasus Distillerie, a French premium craft alcohol brand, that has launched Shooting Star Vodka, enriched with minerals from a literal meteorite - and many botanicals, of course! ☄️☄️ Ready-to-drink canned cocktails are the fastest-growing segment of the spirits category, which saw a 26.8% growth in 2023, worth $2.8 billion in sales, according to the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States. So, a new entrant in the RTD canned cocktail category, aiming to get a slice of this pie by using an outer space theme for its 'celestial' cocktail range, deserves a shout-out. The August issue is live and it's a juicy one 🍋 Adam and Amanda Kroener couldn’t have predicted that the zero-sugar, zero-carb, vodka-based cocktails they began mixing in their kitchen would grow to an eight-figure business within its first three years, but fast growth and the Carbliss - THE PREMIUM Ready to Drink Cocktail brand have become somewhat synonymous. The company was ranked No. 1 on Inc. Magazine's list of the Midwest’s fastest-growing private companies in 2024 with two-year revenue growth of 7,127% (yes, that’s a comma, not a decimal.) “In Wisconsin, we’re the number one spirit-based ready-to-drink — we outsell High Noon, we outsell Crown Royal, we outsell every other brand in our category,” says Carbliss’ Executive Vice President Mike Dempsey. “We’ve got little Carbliss competing with the world’s biggest brands that have almost unlimited amounts of money. Five years ago, Marcus Sakey and I had the notion of creating our favorite cocktails without the alcohol. It was just an idea, and it could have easily been added to the ever growing pile of unactivated ideas. But that evening in Chicago, we inadvertently laid the groundwork for Ritual Zero Proof, the NA liquor sector leader that is now available in stores across the United States. Today, that company has become one of the fastest growing private companies in America, having been named to the prestigious Inc. Magazine's Inc. 5000 list, with 282% growth over the past three years. In many ways it’s hard to believe that it’s only been five years since we started Ritual. The time since then has been a blur of product development, manufacturing, sales, marketing, organizational scaling and all the other things that go into taking something from a fanciful idea to a market reality. It’s amazing to take a moment to look back at how far we’ve come, and to receive the external validation of the progress we’ve made. It’s a testament to the amazing people in our team – past and present – who have done so much to get this brand to where it is today. That said, we’re really only just getting going. We’ve played an important role in the growth of the NA sector to date, but it’s a movement that is still gathering pace and the opportunity that lies ahead just gets bigger and bigger. Today we’ll celebrate our achievement. Tomorrow, we’ll start building the next chapter in Ritual’s story.
