Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting Naheel Jawaid, a gifted Product Designer from Google, as a guest speaker at our organization. His natural storytelling ability was so engaging. Speaking on behalf of our members and myself, we were truly speechless after his talk. Naheel encouraged students to pursue their dream careers boldly, sharing his journey of embracing creativity with its ups and downs. He stressed the need for resilience, dedication, and belief in oneself. His advice was incredibly valuable to us, offering practical UX tips, insights on design thinking, and strategies for creating user-centered solutions. Every minute was valuable, to say the least. Thank you, Naheel, for taking the time to speak with us. I also want to thank my amazing team for making this possible and, of course, our members for their support and participation; I'm so glad we get to experience these events together. Here's to many more inspiring moments and valuable learnings for our UX community! #UXDesign #UserExperience #DesignThinking #Google #ProductDesign #UXCommunity #UTiSchool

Just finished the course “Getting Started in User Experience” by Chris Nodder. It's a basic introduction, with a lot of recommendations for taking further courses, but it does offer good overview information, and the other courses, organized into learning paths, seem useful to someone like me who isn't planning a career in UX but would like to improve my knowledge and champion user-focused and evidence-focused product development. https://lnkd.in/eeZHRt9i #userexperience.

Thank you Kiranmayi Yenduri for sharing your UX career journey with my Pratt Institute students! ❤️ Fun fact: Kiran and I met at a UXPA International conference 2 years ago. She was a conference volunteer, and I taught a course she attended. We’ve stayed in touch, and she recently landed a contract role at Google. Today, she was kind enough to share her journey and career tips with my graduate students. Networking is powerful! #ux #uxcareer #uxeducation #uxresearch #uxnetworking #uxfriends

👋Hi! UXers! I would like to share my first experience of attending a Northern User Experience event here in Leeds on Wednesday. 😄I just would like to say the whole experience from registration, icebreaking to talks and catch-ups are just smooth and enjoyable. A pleasant user experience for this "User experience gathering"!Not to mention, the thoughtful refreshment saved my hungry stomach after travelling to the event. 💡The event educated me and provoked me to think about DesignOPs and AI in UX from two amazing UXers. 1️⃣The onboarding example Kat Durrant gave speaks a lot about the DesignOps concept. I have worked in a product team before where sometimes "small things" like how to apply for a research budget, and "what the procedure to call a UX evaluation meeting with stakeholders "are not documented. It has made the workflow less efficient, especially harder for newbies. DesignOps would certainly free designers to focus on problem-solving and optimize design processes. 2️⃣ Interesting to see how industry pioneers like Lucy Ryder already exploring the possibilities of integrating AI in UX workflow; Thanks for sharing how it was organised as a workshop and people's reflections on the results. Also, the concerns raised within Lucy's team and from the audience are just fascinating. "Whether AI is taking the creative and fun part of UX" or even "What is the creative and fun part of UX? Does it mean the same for everyone"; "Would using AI to start become a habit and make UX researchers and designers lazier to think? " I would like to hear more UXers thoughts on these topics. 👂 Last but not least, As a Junior UXer, I really struggle to land on a job at the moment. I began to question myself especially when overwhelmed with many and many rejections. However, it is so nice to connect with professionals working in the UX industry and gain valuable advice from them. It has not been easy for me. But it hasn't been easy for a lot of people. I truly felt a sense of community when everyone was nice to talk to and had no hesitation in sharing thoughtful insights. Big Thanks to Northern User Experience and all the organisers for a great experience! ❤️ #NUXUK #UX #Events #Leeds #MeetUp #Networking #DesignOps #AI #UXers #UXresearcher #UXdesigner

Alhamdulillah! Successfully completed the Google UX Design Professional Certificate Program! In this beautiful journey I learned about basics of User Experience Design, how a product is made using Design Thinking Process, accumulating user feedback and iterating to polish the product, communicating with other team members including designers, engineers, project managers, marketers etc., and eventually build a user-centric, accessible, and useful digital product. End of a great journey with the beginning of a new journey as a designer, learner, and problem solver. Peace! #GrowWithGoogle #GoogleUXD #Coursera

🌟 My Experience with the Product Development Life Cycle in UX Design 🌟 In my last post, I discussed the Brainstorm Stage. Now, let's continue with the next stages: Define, Design, Test, and Launch. 🌟 Define Stage 🌟 In this stage, UX designers, researchers, program managers, and product leads come together to define the product by: 🔸Identifying the Target Audience: Who is the product for? 🔸Defining Core Features: What will the product do? 🔸Setting Clear Goals: What features are essential for success? 🔹Example: For an app aimed at working parents, focus on either finding reliable childcare or managing schedules, not both. This helps ensure the product addresses a specific user need effectively. 🌟 Design Stage 🌟 UX designers take charge here by: 🔸Creating Wireframes and Prototypes: Sketching and modeling the product. 🔸Ensuring Intuitive Design: Making sure the user interactions are clear and seamless. 🌟 Test Stage 🌟 This phase involves rigorous testing: 🔸Internal Testing: Fixing technical glitches. 🔸Stakeholder Reviews: Ensuring alignment with the company’s vision and regulations. Beta Testing: Gathering user feedback to refine usability and enjoyment. 🌟 Launch Stage 🌟 The final step is bringing the product to market: 🔸Release: Launching on platforms like Google Play or the App Store. 🔸Promotion: Marketing teams spread the word; customer support helps new users. 🔸Reflection: Reviewing the process to identify successes and areas for improvement. 🔸 Ongoing Improvement : For digital products, the launch is just the beginning. Continuous feedback loops drive further enhancements. #UXDesign #ProductDevelopment #DefineStage #DesignStage #TestStage #LaunchStage #TechInnovation #UserExperience #ProductManagement #DesignThinking #GoogleInterviewPrep #MentalWellnessApp

🚀 Diving Deep into User Behavior with Usability Heuristics! As part of my ongoing exploration, I’m taking a closer look at user behavior in Google Photos through the lens of usability heuristics. These 10 principles, developed by Jakob Nielsen, are the foundation of exceptional user interfaces (UI). They guide UI/UX designers to create intuitive and user-friendly experiences. 💡 Why Analyze User Behavior? Meet User Needs: By understanding user interactions, we can design features that truly address pain points and simplify their journey. Drive Business Goals: A great user experience builds loyalty, helping businesses grow by keeping users coming back. Big thanks to Arindam Mukherjee for these amazing challenges as part of the NextLeap PM Fellowship! They push us to dig deeper and learn more every day. Stay tuned for insights! 🎯 #NextLeapPMFellowship #NextLeap #LearnInPublicChallenge #ProductTeardown #ProductManagement #PMFellowship
