Here are some ways to Celebrate today: Pick up the phone! Surprise your grandparents with a much-awaited phone conversation. Take your grandparents on an adventure. Plan a day doing their favorite things - one of which is probably spending time with you. Write a letter to your grandparents. Share with them the things you've been doing. They will read your letter over and over. Learn something from a grandparent. Have you always wanted to know how to make Grandma's pecan pie or catch a whopper from the river? Grandma or Grandpa will probably show you how. You only need to ask. Help them out. Clean out a flower bed. Take out the trash. Mow the lawn. Paint a room. Fix the internet. Run an errand. The list goes on. Take a photo. Sometimes we forget to capture moments with the people we love the most. Take a photo with your grandparent and make sure they get a copy. Speaking of photos, spend some time looking through old photos with your grandparents. Ask them questions about the people in them and record the information. Adopt a grandparent. As surprising as it may seem, there are some of our older generations who have no grandchildren. However, they still have love and wisdom to share. 

To father figures around the world, stand tall and proud as the children you raise seek to make this world a better place for their generations. In 1986, my father co authored a study developing a four item structured self report scale. This article reviews the psychometric properties and tests the concurrent and predictive validity of a structured four-item self-reported adherence measure which can be easily integrated into the medical visit. Results showed the scale to demonstrate both concurrent and predictive validity with regard to blood pressure control at 2 years and 5 years, respectively. This tool became known as the Morisky Green Levine or MGL /MAQ and is the most highly cited article in medication adherence in the world, even to this day being used in standard practice in the largest institutions in the world. https://lnkd.in/g8C_ATZR

As I step into the last year of my fifth decade, I’m reflecting on each one so far—it's been quite the journey of growth and discovery. How do your neighbors, step-dads, godfathers, grandfathers and uncles support and help to father you? What great productivity practices have those fathering you exhibited? What can you do this week to honor those lessons? 𝗗𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗺𝗲 about having a vision, the importance of strategic thinking, how vital it is to be as generous as possible, why we should listen to our gut instincts, how to develop patience, staying between the ditches when driving and making time for what provides joy, like sports, ice cream and music, understanding joy can come from the littlest things and smallest moments. I think of him every day and am so grateful for the blessings he left with me.
