This means including insurance expenses in your annual budget and making them a focus of your fundraising efforts. For example, let's say you run a community center that relies on donations to operate. You might host fundraising events, like bike sales or charity auctions, specifically to raise money for insurance. By clearly explaining to donors why insurance is important, you can show them how their contributions directly protect the organization and its ability to carry out its mission. Imagine you're asking someone to donate to your community center. You might say something like, "Your donation will help cover our insurance costs, which ensure that our programs and activities are safe and protected. With your support, we can continue to provide valuable services to the community."
