🐟 Seabream in Aquaculture: Unlocking Hidden Potential 🐟 Gilthead sea bream is a key species in European aquaculture, playing a vital role in both Mediterranean cuisine and the broader seafood industry. While seabream is a culinary favorite, its impact extends far beyond the plate, contributing significantly to the entire aquaculture sector. 🥗 🐟 However, despite its importance, much of the sea bream's side-streams—such as scales, gills, and bones—are still underutilized or discarded. These by-products hold immense potential for higher-value applications, including the production of collagen, gelatin, and bioactive compounds. #FOODIMAR is focused on turning this untapped potential into reality. With three innovative pilots, one of which targets seabream aquaculture side-streams in 🇹🇷 Türkiye, we're partnering with Tetis Biotechnology to explore ways to transform these by-products into high-value opportunities.
