Today, on International Volunteer Day, we want to give a shoutout to our very own #uTeam member, Namarta (Nam) Atwal.
Nam is a Volunteer Puppy Carer through Vision Australia 's Seeing Eye Dogs program. She has been raising a wonderful puppy named Rumble, who will hopefully become a Seeing Eye Dog for an Australian who is blind or has low vision.
And to all amazing volunteers out there, thank you! You make the world a better place and we appreciate you.
You can learn more about the program and how to be a volunteer at https://hubs.li/Q02-tpWZ0.

Since 2022, the Fakfak District Government has declared Wewowo Lestari's initiative a multistakeholder forum to bring Fakfak towards sustainability. The forum recently gathered to update the achievements and identify joint programs. Arobi Hindom, Assistant II of the Fakfak Regional Secretary, officially opened the joint meeting of the Wewowo Lestari Task Force in Fakfak, West Papua, reaffirming the local government's commitment to working hand-in-hand with Kaleka.
This initiative aims to integrate sustainable development into the region's annual development agenda through the Wewowo Lestari jurisdictional approach. With support from various stakeholders, including five target villages, the Wewowo spirit is set to deliver tangible benefits for the welfare of Fakfak's communities.

Are you a Cat, a Fish, a Bird or a Dog Person. #PetCareIndustry
Indonesia is a nation of pet lovers, and the most popular pets vary. Cats take the lead, with **37%** of pet owners having feline companions. Fish follow at **22%**, birds at **18%**, and dogs trail behind at **10%**. Interestingly, due to religious and cultural beliefs, dog ownership rates remain relatively low in this Muslim-majority country. Whether it's a playful cat, a colorful fish, or a loyal dog, pets bring joy to Indonesian households.
Have a great Sunday with your beloved Pet.

isten as Koru K9 co-owner, Ray & Bridget sit down with Seattle dog trainers, Shane and Damian to discuss all things dog socialization. In this episode, we discuss:
1. What dog socialization is.
2. What is is NOT
3. Tips to help socialize your dog properly
4. Signs of a poorly socialized dog
And SO much more!
What is Dog Socialization? 🐕
Forget the myth that socializing your dog means making them BFFs with every dog, human, or animal they meet. Real socialization is all about exposing your pup to different environments, objects, people, and places—making them cool and collected in any situation.
Is Puppy School or the Dog Park True Socialization? 🐾
Absolutely not! Dog parks and puppy schools might seem like a good idea, but they fall short when it comes to genuine socialization. These environments often lack the necessary structure for effective learning, and unregulated play can do more harm than good. What your dog truly needs is a well-managed environment where they can grow and flourish without feeling overwhelmed.
How to Start Properly Socializing Your Dog 🏡
✅ Establish Communication: Before you even step outside, make sure you and your dog are on the same page. Be the leader they look up to.
✅ Engage Without Distractions: Take them to new places but avoid letting them meet everyone right away. Focus on them paying attention to you.
✅ Controlled Interactions: Once your dog is relaxed amidst distractions, gradually allow social encounters—always with a watchful eye.
Signs of Poor Socialization 🚨
Reactivity: Often confused with aggression or fear, but usually a sign of poor socialization.
Fearfulness: If your dog is scared of new things, they might need more socialization.
Socializing an Unvaccinated Puppy? 🐾🛡️
✅ Engage at Home: Build their confidence indoors with household items.
✅ Safe Outdoor Exposure: Take them to low-risk areas where they can observe the world without direct contact with other dogs.
Tips to Help You Socialize Your Dog 🤝
Start Slow: Go at your dog’s pace. Socialization is a marathon, not a sprint.
Teach Calm Interaction: When guests come over, start with your dog in a crate. Let them get used to the presence before direct interaction.
Structured Engagement: Use short training sessions to build calm behavior.
Routine is Key: Establish a routine so your dog knows what to expect.
By following these steps, you'll build a rock-solid foundation for your dog’s social skills, making them the coolest, most well-behaved dog around. 🐶🚀
