The packaging method of UV LED light sources is different from other LED products, mainly because they serve different objects and needs. Most lighting or display LED products are designed to serve the human eye, so when considering light intensity, you also need to consider the human eye's ability to withstand strong light.

LED Beacons with Xenon Strobe style flash at an industry beating brightness level! Following on from yesterday's announcement, I just wanted to share a little more about the measured performance of this new range. As part of the development process we will, of course, evaluate in-house the performance of similar devices on the market on a like-for-like basis. Whilst, at the outset, it was our clear aim (and a proud achievement!) to develop an LED replacement/equivalent to our own high-power 24 Joule xenon strobe beacons such as the XFK/24J, XFJ/24J and XFH/24J, benchmarking competitors is always a fun "enlightening" exercise. Yesterday I claimed that these are the brightest industrial warning signals in their class, with effective luminous intensities of more than 460Cd for the Pulse mode, I can share some data below substantiating this claim. Our strobe function yields results around 2.5-3x these figures! – all colour dependent of course! We were excited about both the uniformity of the light produced in the horizontal plane as well as maintaining the focussed "beam" in the vertical plane that, for a unit mounted above head height, is clearly long-range visible at distance whilst avoiding blinding personnel close-up. These long-lasting products are available in a range of housings to complement our existing product ranges. Similarly, we can supply a product to accommodate pretty much any supply voltage from 12V to 230V in both AC and DC.
