🎓 WCC has partnered with Northern Illinois University (NIU) to offer another transfer pathway for students with the new #Waubonsee Excellence Scholarship! #WaubonseeWin Gustafson Scholars who graduate with associate degrees from WCC with a minimum 3.0 GPA will be eligible to receive the scholarship from NIU in the amount of $2K per year for a maximum of two consecutive years. A fantastic article by Chris Husbands and team, one that I encourage you take the time to read, irrespective of the sector you are in. A statement which truly stood out to me and one of which I continue to grapple with is: ‘…successive governments have called into being a large and diverse higher education sector but are reluctant to provide the funding and policy framework in which it can thrive.’ Today policy influences our educational practices and more often than I care to think about, this approach has restricted institutions in delivering on their missions and therefore we need to make a move to flip this notion on its head, education by definition should be informing policy. #ukhighereducation #policy #DfE #OFS #collaboration #influence #industy #ukgovernment #research #studentoutcomes
