🎄 Tis the Season 🎄 💫 Day 7: Designing for Joy—Creating Memorable UX Moments 💫 💫 Why Great UX Feels Like the Perfect Holiday Celebration! 💫 🎄 Think about your favorite holiday traditions—each one crafted to spark joy, connection, and a little magic. Great UX works the same way! It’s not just about functionality; it’s about creating moments that people remember. Here’s how UX design mirrors the festive spirit: 🎁 1. Setting the Scene The best holiday celebrations start with ambiance—twinkling lights, cozy vibes, and festive music. In UX, setting the tone is just as crucial. The right color palette, typography, and design flow create an environment users want to stay in. ✨ Example: Calm’s soothing app interface makes you feel relaxed before you’ve even pressed play on a meditation session. 🎁 2. Thoughtful Surprises Surprises make the holidays special, whether it’s an unexpected gift or a heartfelt card. In UX, small, thoughtful surprises keep users delighted. ✨ Example: Google Doodles turn a simple search experience into a moment of joy and discovery. 🎁 3. Building Community Holidays bring people together, and so should great UX. Features that foster connection—like sharing playlists, collaborating on projects, or leaving reviews—turn users into communities. ✨ Example: Spotify Wrapped encourages users to share their listening history, sparking conversations around the world. Designing Joy That Lasts Like the memories we hold onto from our favorite holidays, great UX is about creating moments that stick with users. Let’s keep designing experiences that feel as warm and magical as a perfect holiday moment. 💡 What’s a UX moment that’s left you smiling recently? Let’s talk about how we can keep creating joy in our designs—share your thoughts in the comments! #UXDesign #HolidayJoy #DesignForDelight

🎄 𝗔 𝗖𝗛𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗠𝗔𝗦 𝗢𝗙 𝗖𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗩𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗢𝗣𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗘𝗦! 🎁 🩵 For me, Christmas is a time for reflection, gratitude, and dreams for the new year. 🔥 This 2024 has been 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 and discoveries in the UX/UI design world, with projects that helped me grow both professionally and personally. ⭐ While I wish you all a joyful and peaceful holiday season, I also want to share 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 I’ve learned this year. I think these tips can help improve the User Experience during the festive season: 1️⃣ 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 : Users look for quick answers and intuitive solutions, especially during busy times like the holidays, when we have little time to search for gifts and surprises for friends and family. 2️⃣ 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: A design that welcomes everyone makes Christmas more universal. 3️⃣ 𝗘𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿: Small interactive details can make a difference (like festive animations!). 4️⃣ 𝗜𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸: A personalized "thank you" after an action is like a digital holiday card. 5️⃣ 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Offer suggestions based on preferences, but without being invasive. These principles are at the heart of my approach as a UX Designer, always ready to create experiences that are useful, exciting, and accessible. ✨ 🔜 For 2025, I dream of continuing this growth and working on projects that improve users’ lives and make the digital world simpler. 🎅 𝙃𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙮 𝙃𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙙𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙚! May this Christmas bring peace, meaningful connections, and new inspirations. 💡

🎄 If anyone has ever met me, they know I’m a total Christmas nut! 🎅 My wife and I go all out with 25 days of Christmas—I’d say it’s for the kids, but honestly, it feels like it’s more for us sometimes. 🤫 When it’s time to wrap the presents, it’s always a “fun” event, lol. 🎁 My wife—the research professor—handles all the gift wrapping like a pro, while I, the UX researcher, take on the role of moderator (She absolutely loves it when I hover over her and start questioning her methods—said no one ever!). The kids? They’re just trying to skip the whole process and dive straight into tearing everything open. 🧸🎉 Meanwhile, I’m over here asking, “How might we improve the gift-opening experience?” 🤔 and secretly running an A/B test: her beautifully wrapped presents vs. my “gift bag for speed” approach. Spoiler alert: the kids don’t care who wins—they’re all about the final product! 🏆 Happy holidays to all my fellow researchers and Christmas enthusiasts! 🎅✨ May your user journeys be merry and your designs bright! 🎄 #UXResearch #HolidayFun #ChristmasSeason #ABTesting #UserExperience #FamilyTraditions #GiftWrapping #HolidayHumor #MerryChristmas 🎁🎅🎄

Back in 2020, we celebrated spooky season by sharing 8 popular UX and user research nightmares, alongside some ideas and resources to help fix some of these challenges. Four years later, we are curious to find out if these are still relevant? 👉 https://lnkd.in/eFhmAaaD As a user researcher, do you still experience any of these spooky nightmares? 👻 When users can’t/don’t want to make time to talk 👻 Fighting for simple design decisions 👻 When participants shut down during user interviews 👻 Recruiting niche users/according to complex criteria 👻 Working on a complex product in a company with low UX maturity 👻 Obstacles to conducting more (or any) user research 👻 Identifying a user error vs. bad UX 👻 When your remote sessions are plagued by tech issues #halloween #uxnightmare #userresearchnightmare #uxresearch #userrecruitment

Should I do it? Should I wait? As a person, I care about strategically planning my finances and like to ask myself: "Do I need this?", "Is it important?" and "Do I really want this?" before making a purchase. This is especially true while job hunting. The CPHUX membership was one I had contemplated for over a half-year since I want to build on my UX-related knowledge and skills while networking with people who share my interests. One final nudge to make me say, "Why wait?" was a personal message received by Helena Zilmer Levison. Maybe it was the questions about me, showing an interest, the heart emojis,❤️or the fact that we share the same name. People want to feel included and be reached. This was the final push to make me sign up. Shortly afterwards, I got in touch with my former UX colleague, Tira N., on their Slack channel, which shows how tight-knit the community is. I hope to gain more acquaintances, starting with the CPHUX Christmas party on the 6th. 🎅 If you are a UX'er based in Denmark, feel free to connect with me since I value networking and meeting people with different journeys and perspectives that can broaden my horizons and knowledge. I am a humble rookie who wants to grow 🌱 #cphux #ux #copenhagen #design #humanpsychology #uxresearch

🎉Woot! A Nerd Sweepstakes: the Nielsen Norman Group is offering a chance to win a report of your choice. #UserExperience applies to many business & human research sectors, focusing on the perspective of the #User of a website, product, or service. Find the Nielsen Norman Group on LinkedIn and other platforms. Why #Usability is Critical: If you are ignorant of the true #UserNeeds, you can waste time and money teaching, advising, or selling an unwanted product or service. My Favorite Example: Think of all those gadgets adult children buy for their elderly parents that end up in the back of some closet.

A few years ago, I was walking down a bustling market street in Delhi during the Christmas season. The air was cool, the lights were dazzling, and the smell of freshly baked plum cakes lingered in the air. Despite not being a Christian-majority country, the festive spirit was alive and thriving. Families, friends, and even strangers seemed connected by the same joyful energy. It hit me that Christmas isn’t just a holiday. It’s a design marvel. Every detail, from the twinkling lights to the red-and-white colors, the music, and even the smell of cinnamon, is intentionally crafted to evoke emotion, connection, and loyalty. It’s not an accident—it’s a masterclass in creating a customer experience that transcends culture and geography. Christmas is designed to make people feel a certain way. It’s a universal narrative of hope and joy, delivered with consistency and care, year after year. As a design leader, I couldn’t help but reflect on how this applies to business. What if we approached our products, services, or brands the same way Christmas is designed? What if we focused on crafting experiences that evoke emotion and foster connection? Christmas teaches us that the Great design isn’t just functional—it’s felt. It’s about crafting moments that stay with people long after the interaction ends. As a CX or design leader, your job isn’t just to solve problems; it’s to create magic. When you focus on how your users feel, you’re not just building a product but building loyalty, connection, and something people will return to, time and time again. Christmas is proof that the right experience can change everything. This was me, share if you even had a similar experience. #cx #ux #christmas #festival #design #inspiration #uxdesign #userexperience #userjourney #cxjourney

Have you celebrated your birthday this year?! To some persons 'birthdays' hold a special place in their hearts while to others the reverse remains the case. The reason is often peculiar to each individual as their perspective about its celebration differs. However, I perceive 'birthdays' as that season of the year where you get to reflect about the trajectory of your life and milestones. It is also a moment to be more retrospective about some of the key decisions you've made which played a pivotal role to your current state. When this is concluded, it is imperative you outline key strategies that would make the next 365days of your life mind-blowing! With this, I strongly believe you should be fired up to crush your goals. However, there is something waiting to stop you? Guess what that is... The answer is YOU! Interestingly, you often set goals and even have reflective moments before your birthdays; the sad part has always been that you usually stop halfway when executing your plans. This is not because you hate growth. It simply has to do with your inability to break your goals into smaller bits. If you could successfully break those lofty goals and aspirations of yours, into bits; I can assure you that it would be a lot easier to achieve than you ever imagined. For each week in the month, outline what you want to achieve and be clear about it. Spend the early hours of each day working actively on the small steps leading to the actualization of that week's goal, if you practice this constantly, with time you'd become unstoppable. I hope this helps! P.S: Birthday flyer was designed by yours truly, send me a Direct Message for Business Deals.. #birthdayflyer #graphicdesigner #productdesigner #flyer #ui #ux #birthdays #celebration #followme #like

🌟 Calgary UX: 2024 in Numbers! 🌟 Measuring the impact of a UX community is really difficult, as we create long-lasting partnerships, friendships and experiences. As we kick off a new year, we’re excited to reflect on the incredible growth and milestones Calgary UX achieved in 2024. Here’s a snapshot of what we accomplished together: 📈 4,348+ Members 👋 594+ New Members 🎉 26 Events 🏢 21 In-Person Events 💻 5 Online Events 🙌 9,425+ RSVPs One noticeable change this past year: we hosted significantly fewer online events (5) compared to 29 in 2023. I am excited to have been part of #UXinsightFestival as a volunteer! 🎉 The energy and enthusiasm from everyone was truly inspiring. 📊 Some notable facts & figures that caught my eye (check out the slide deck for more): 💯💯💯💯💯 500+ participants! There were over 500 participants! Still, it felt like a cozy group, at least to me. 👥 59% UX researchers Of the participants, 59% were UX or user researchers. The other big groups were UX designers, leads, and managers. 💖 Top-liked aspects: 🗣 Talks' quality, diversity, relevance. 🗃️ Organization. 🕸 Community and networking opportunities. 💭 One suggestion that resonated with me was the need for improved networking support for shyer participants, a challenge I can imagine some attendees may face. I'll keep an eye out for potential solutions and ideas. 🗓 Mark your calendars for UXinsight Festival 2025: April 14-16! Stay curious, be bold everyone! 🌱
