Do you use QR code-linked documentation at work? Using QR codes is a convenient way to provide quick access to task procedures, equipment manuals and safety protocols, exactly when and where the work needs to be completed. The time-lapse below shows Cam Stevens and me capturing Altus Mostert as he demonstrates the setup of a palletising robot at the Robotic Innovations workshop. The content was then used to create QR code documentation. I have published a full article with more information about using QR codes at work in the resources section of the Behemoth website. Whether linking to web pages via phone browsers or secure content in mobile apps, QR codes, when implemented well, can help reduce frustration, minimise support needs and enable safer, more efficient work. In addition to static information, QR codes can link to dynamic systems such as service logs, digital checklists or input forms. There are many powerful apps that support maintenance work and asset inspections. For instance, DS Site | CodeSafe is a great option for providing and tracking workforce access to quality, safety and training videos, while ChekRite excels in digital checklists, inspection forms and workflow tracking.
