Lead Auditor - Ex inspector (CompEx and IECEX approved), IRT l2 (Infrared Institute approved) and IRATA L3

Ensuring that electrical equipment is properly installed according to standards such as 60079-14 is essential for maintaining safety and functionality in hazardous environments. However, even with meticulous initial installation, the integrity of the equipment can be compromised if subsequent maintenance or repairs are not carried out with equal care and precision. In the scenario where a sensor was damaged and the subsequent wiring installation was poorly executed, the consequences can be severe. Apart from the immediate risk of malfunction or failure of the equipment, there is also the heightened risk of hazardous incidents, including fires, explosions, or electrical shocks. These risks are particularly significant in environments where explosive gases, vapors, or combustible dusts are present. Therefore, it cannot be overstated how crucial it is to hire the right candidate for the job when it comes to electrical maintenance and repairs, especially in hazardous areas. The suitable candidate should possess not only the technical skills and knowledge required for the task but also a deep understanding of safety protocols and compliance standards.

Just another example of someone who is clearly not a competent electrician and/or no prie in there work, good chance be nicks in the cores, gland installed wrong, etc etc, into a basic Exe enclosure containing ELV judging by the dim rails. However, I’m curious as to why the original installation/ installer never just used one of the dim rails for the incoming cable which would of made this a far neater install in the first place. Just saying 🤷♂️
