More details on https://lnkd.in/e5v8mvgZ - Aamer Shah’s recent planning application with Trafford Council aims to significantly alter the landscape of Barton Road, Stretford, transforming a modest two-bedroom semi-detached home into a substantial ten-bedroom house of multiple occupation (HMO). This ambitious project is designed not just to expand residential capacity but to address community concerns regarding anti-social behaviour and noise, which are common apprehensions associated with larger tenant populations. Shah assures residents that thorough management strategies will be in place to mitigate these potential issues, aiming to foster a harmonious living environment. The proposed three-storey building will feature spacious communal areas along with essential amenities, while also promoting environmental responsibility with provisions for private parking, secure bicycle storage, and designated bin areas. Supported by HAD & Co Property Consultants, the proposal highlights strategic accessibility to public transport and local services, ensuring that the development is not only beneficial for tenants but also integrates smoothly into the existing neighbourhood fabric.

Salford City Council and Onward Homes agree a deal to build 100 new homes 🤩 As someone with a background in facilities management, I’ve seen a lot of housing projects, but this one really stands out. In order to combat the housing crisis in Salford, Onward Homes and Salford Council have joined forces to create sustainable, community-focused spaces that people will be proud to call home. It’s a modern, forward-thinking approach that ticks all the right boxes. In today’s world, energy-efficient designs aren’t just a bonus, they’re a necessity. This development is not just looking at the here and now; it is considering accessibility, convenience, and how these homes will fit into the broader community. What’s also fantastic is how this project is set to rejuvenate the local area. Turning underutilised spaces into vibrant residential communities that can be used by all. They're not just building houses – they’re building communities. I’m genuinely excited to see the positive impact this will have. #housing #manchester #council #affordablehousing

Housing and revitalising the High Street Not only are we seeing the Town centre trying to survive post covid, out of town /online shopping etc but the decline of the High street with vacant properties and unused accommodation over the shops."Back in 2005 Consultancy Grant Thornton was commissioned by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister to draw up plans for a new agency that would advise on how empty commercial space could be converted into up to 300,000 homes. Its unpublished report, seen by Inside Housing, revealed that despite the ‘significant potential' of the project there was little appetite among commercial organisations or housing associations to act."Inside Housing .
