I did a short video interview about my upcoming #IndoorWireless workshop in Sarasota in Florida, what the key issues are & what to expect. EDIT: unfortunately this workshop has now been postponed. I’ll update on the next dates when available - please stay tuned. My view is that indoor connectivity - public & private #5G, #WiFi and many other technologies - get insufficient attention from policymakers, investors, property companies and enterprises. Even most telcos / carriers view it mostly as "special projects" rather than being strategically important. Yet 80%+ of all wireless connectivity - and value - occurs indoors. Education, industrial automation, healthcare, gaming, business collaboration and many other use-cases are almost exclusively done inside walls, on private property. The aim of the day is to gather together diverse stakeholders - 5G & Wi-Fi vendors, regulatory & policy specialists, service providers, industry associations, neutral hosts and more - to discuss how to amplify the scale and importance of the problem. It's under Chatham House, so people can be candid. This isn't aboout Tech A vs. Tech B. It's an effort to make more people realise just how important Indoor Wireless is, and how complex the stakeholder landscape makes it to get enough attention. Watch the video below, and register at https://lnkd.in/en8vHWgu Drop me a line if you'd like to speak in person about how the events run & how I can help you get approval - I did one in London in January. (Note: although this is running alongside a WiFi conference, it's focused on 5G at least as much).
Calling all INDOOR WIRELESS stations! On April 22 - in connection with WWC 2024 in Sarasota - we're conducing an indoor wireless stakeholders seminar with the great Dean Bubley - watch below what it is about - and click below to reserve your ticket NOW - or get in touch with me or Dean for more information. https://lnkd.in/e-nQMUYq

In the latest edition of the ITE—A Community of Transportation Professionals Journal, Meha Bola and I emphasize the critical role of community engagement in transportation planning through our work with the Transportation Agency for Monterey County and two California State University, Monterey Bay professors Fred Watson and Scott Waltz on the Fort Ord Regional Trail and Greenway (FORTAG). In the article, Meha Bola and I emphasize the critical role of community engagement in transportation projects. As transportation professionals, we have a responsibility to actively connect with the public, stakeholders, and decision-makers to ensure our projects truly reflect the values and needs of the communities we serve. Meaningful engagement isn’t just a step in the process—it’s a foundation for success. Here’s how we believe it can make a difference: - Enhancing safety by understanding and addressing diverse mobility needs. - Ensuring equity through the inclusion of underrepresented voices. - Building public trust and transparency via active, open involvement. - Fostering innovation and forward-thinking by integrating lived experiences and new perspectives. We hope this article inspires our peers to prioritize authentic engagement, creating transportation solutions that are not only technically sound but also equitable, safe, and innovative. A special thank you to the GHD Team that helped make this project such a success! Especially Steve Grupico, Chenin Otto, P.E., and Lucas Piper for leading their teams to make this project what it is today. https://lnkd.in/gsnqjApp https://lnkd.in/gC8audSk Todd Muck, Michael Zeller, Laurie A. Frustrated with Vancouver Council’s recent decision to keep buildings locked into outdated, fossil gas-intensive infrastructure? You’re not alone. Not only is this rollback a red herring for housing affordability; but built environment, health, and economics experts find it will cost us all more in medium and long terms. (More details in the letter and below). #join the growing chorus of business leaders calling for smarter investments in a liveable future! ✍️here https://lnkd.in/gf7XaiDm #leadersleading ….. A few more reasons: Per evidence-based research by C40 Cities: “New gas infrastructure will become a liability before the end of its anticipated economic lifetime”; while “switching to renewables, combined with energy-efficiency improvements and electrification, will help to make energy more affordable and accessible”. https://lnkd.in/gRXdGCXd #Health: Per the 2030 Countdown by the The Lancet (the world’s premier peer-reviewed health journal): “Fossil fuel dependence is not only undermining global health through increased climate change impacts, but also [negatively] affects human health and wellbeing directly”. These harms also carry significant economic costs. https://lnkd.in/gvJ6JRqZ More #cobenefits: https://lnkd.in/gHR8isbQ More Vancouver-specific details from former* Vancouver Economic Commission staff George Patrick Richard Benson: https://lnkd.in/gW4Wi_BS (*before VEC was unilaterally shuttered)

Remember to register for the final town hall event in Adelaide at 6:30pm Wednesday 12th June. It could not be explained any better than how Vanessa Cheng has outlined in this short video. Parents and students of faith aligned schools seek a positive right of choice for education to be aligned to their beliefs, with clear protections for schools to employ and educate in line with religious and moral values. What is required? Legislative clarity is required to allow for faith institutions (be it schools or places of worship) the protection to teach and practice their religious and moral beliefs. To remove any doubt, its parents and students that make the choice of faith aligned schooling, and the choice is to be taught by a system that supports and is consistent with their faith and choice in morals and religious practice. Be it belief about spiritual matters or beliefs around identity. I sincerely pray that the existing government and future governments uphold existing religious freedom and expression. Unfortunately proposed changes will erode this religious freedom and diversity of choice for Parents and Students. A positive event to attend and support. https://lnkd.in/gJ6y3ZwP
Getting ready for our final Town Hall event in Adelaide next week where we have a strong message for the Government…
