It is no secret the business of health care is experiencing one of its most tumultuous times in history. There is no shortage of reports on the challenging financial health care marketplace. This creates complexities for the C-Suite, challenging them to successfully operate and navigate through the tumult while also staying true to their organizations’ missions, values and visions. In times of uncertainty and financial challenges, campaigns are a crucial lifeline for organizations seeking to sustain their missions and serve their communities’ health needs. These times also create challenges in building and launching large-scale philanthropy efforts. Accordant’s Wave Campaign™ model was developed during less turbulent times; yet, has the adaptability, innovation and momentum generation needed to navigate stormy weather. This model is case-driven, clinician-partnered, organization-aligned and passion-fueled to meet and exceed donor needs. Wave campaigning is structured to ensure sustained philanthropy. Our journey began in 2022 with The AIP BIPOC Roundtables, where we shared important information with the BIPOC autoimmune community. From those humble beginnings, The AIP BIPOC Network was born, and in 2023, we proudly gained non-profit status. Today, we’re excited to announce that we’ve earned the Candid Silver Seal of Transparency on GuideStar! This recognition reflects our dedication to transparency and accountability as we continue to build impactful programs like Roundtable Discussions, Community Health Expos, and Online Support Groups that focus on empowering BIPOC individuals with autoimmune diseases. But what does this status mean? Earning the Silver Seal of Transparency means that The AIP BIPOC Network has provided key information about our mission, leadership, financials, and impact, making it publicly accessible. It demonstrates our commitment to openness and trust, ensuring that everyone can see how we operate and the positive difference we’re making. We’re looking forward to growing our impact and continuing this important work!

In healthcare, excellence is not just a goal—it's a continual journey. While healthcare professionals work tirelessly to advance patient care, philanthropy plays an equally critical role in shaping the future of healthcare, driving innovation, and improving lives. National Philanthropy Day is recognized worldwide to celebrate philanthropy and those who give. At the SJRH Foundation, we see every single day of the year how donors help provide the resources needed for state-of-the-art technology, research and critical patient services that go beyond what is covered by traditional funding sources. Today's healthcare challenges are complex. However, our donor community continues to fund solutions to these challenges, support our dedicated hospital staff, and invest in continuous patient care and outcomes improvement. Philanthropy in healthcare is not just an act of giving—it's an investment in a healthier tomorrow. And for that, we are endlessly grateful. So on this special day, and every other day of the year, we say THANK YOU. #NationalPhilanthropyDay #ThankYou #MakingADifference #HealthcareHeroes #PhilanthropyMatters

Grateful engagement (formerly known as the “grateful patient program”) is a strategy that guides health care organizations to proactively engage grateful patients and families in sharing and celebrating stories of gratitude. Grateful patient engagement also allows patients and families to express their gratitude for care through philanthropy. A key success factor is the development of strategic partnerships with key internal allies (such as physicians, clinicians, nursing leaders, service line leaders and administrative leaders) to help identify, cultivate and steward grateful patient and family donors. A successful grateful engagement strategy not only elevates gratitude within health care organizations but also enables a streamlined and robust approach to generating continuous pools of new prospective donors. Therefore, grateful engagement should be embraced by every member of the organization’s development team and should be a top priority for the organization’s daily work. Whether embarking upon your organization’s first grateful engagement strategy or fine-tuning existing efforts, check out this piece from Accordant's Erin M. Stitzel, FAHP, and Debbie Ferguson, CFRE, for five key elements that are essential in guiding your endeavor: https://ow.ly/Ah7Z50SLVyv #healthcare #philanthropy #gratefulengagement #strategy

I'M THINKING.... What if the most meaningful gift this holiday season wasn’t under the tree but in the lives we change together? For many of us, the holidays are a time of joy, family, and celebration. But for countless others in our community, this season can bring heavy burdens: 🔴 Families choosing between healthcare and holiday expenses. 🔴 People struggling with mental health challenges. 🔴 Communities facing barriers to basic care. At Legacy Community Health, we see these stories every day and work tirelessly to ensure no one has to face them alone. We believe the greatest gift is accessible, compassionate care that meets people where they are and helps them move toward a healthier future. As I reflect on what it truly means to give this holiday season, I realize it’s not about extravagant presents or elaborate celebrations—it’s about creating meaningful change that lasts far beyond the holidays. When we give the gift of health, we give people a chance to thrive, hope, and rebuild. How can you help? ▶️ DONATE: Your contributions ensure more families get vital healthcare services. ▶️ SHARE: Spread awareness about affordable care to connect those in need with resources. ▶️ ADVOCATE: Use your voice to champion health equity. At Legacy, we’re committed to making health care a right for all. Together, we can make this a season of compassion and connection that changes lives. What does the gift of health mean to you? Share your thoughts in the comments—I’d love to hear your perspective.

National Public Health Week Starts Today!! During each day of National Public Health Week, the MPH team has created a one pager that focuses on a particular public health topic. The purpose is to help to highlight how each of us can make a difference on that topic. These areas are critical to our future success in creating the healthiest nation. Think about what you can do to help. Please see below to learn more about Civic Engagement and my challenge to you. Learn more at nphw.org. #nationalpublichealthweek Civic Engagement Challenge What is civic engagement? Civic engagement is the formal and informal actions that we and our communities take to identify and address problems and shapes our opportunities to be healthy. By taking actions to get more civically engaged, like voting, we exercise our right to make decisions about our communities, like whether our neighborhoods have walkable sidewalks and how much funding goes to nonprofit organizations to help vulnerable populations. By engaging in professional or community service we help to improve a community’s health. A recent analysis of civic engagement and state health outcomes from 1996 to 2020 showed that in states where people are more civically engaged and vote more, public health outcomes are better. I challenge you to become more civically engaged! 1. Vote and help someone else vote in the next election within your community (e.g. provide transportation or fill in for them at work). 2. Volunteer in your community. 3. Serve on a committee that affects the health of your community – contact your local schools, churches, non-profit groups, state public health organization for opportunities. Share your experiences with family and friends!
National Public Health Week is finally here!
