Last week, we joined policymakers from the European institutions, international organizations such as The World Health Organization and other leaders of the vaccine industry to participate in an event hosted by Vaccines Europe at the European Parliament. Together, we discussed the role of immunization in revitalizing Europe’s public health leadership and resilience. Set against the backdrop of the newly elected European Parliament and the start of the 2024-2029 legislative mandate, the event was a crucial moment for our Chief Medical Officer, and Vice President of Vaccines Europe, Dr. Juan Carlos Jaramillo, to continue to engage with policymakers, public health stakeholders and other industry leaders to ensure the development of a strong EU immunization strategy that supports global health initiatives. At Valneva, we are committed to collaborating alongside key stakeholders to continue advancing vaccine strategies. Together, we can help create a healthier and more resilient future for Europe and beyond. #globalhealth #publichealth #vaccine #Europe #AdvancingVaccinesForBetterLives

[World Immunisation Week] World Immunisation Week is observed worldwide from April 24th to April 30th every year. This week aims to educate the public on the importance of vaccines for public health and ensure equitable access to vaccines. This year, we celebrate this significant week with the theme “Humanly Possible”, reflecting on the commitment to improving vaccination access for everyone. As the frontline of healthcare, pharmacists play a key role in not only advocating the public on the importance of immunisation as a preventive measure for certain diseases but also dispelling the myths and misconceptions to allow the public to make informed decisions about their health. During this World Immunisation Week, let’s stand together to ensure equitable access to vaccination and increase the vaccination rates to protect everyone from vaccine-preventable diseases and save lives. hashtag #WorldImmunisationWeek #HumanlyPossible #MPS

ICYMI: Vaccines are one of the most successful and significant public health measures in the 20th century. However, since the COVID-19 pandemic, they have become more politicized, especially in state legislatures where lawmakers decide state vaccination policies. A new Baker Institute Science & Technology Policy report studies the vaccine-related voting records of legislators with biology and health backgrounds in four states — Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas — and reveals that party affiliation is a more significant predictor of voting behavior than education. Vaccines save lives, prevent diseases, and protect communities. Yet, disparities in vaccine confidence persist, impacting our collective ability to safeguard public health. It's imperative that we delve into the root causes, address misinformation, and foster trust in vaccination programs. Join CLCI in our mission to advance immunisation and protect the health of all Europeans. Together, we can make a difference. Improving access and convenience to vaccination for adults is a crucial pillar of healthy ageing. As shown by recent data from the Office of Health Economics, adult immunisation is a highly effective investment for governments and health services, returning up to 19 times their initial investment to society. We are pleased to support the EHMA - European Health Management Association (EHMA) Conference #EHMA2024 to address the pressing need to prioritize adult immunization to safeguard the health and well-being of our communities. In his new Forefront article, Jason Schwartz from Yale School of Public Health discusses how the U.S. vaccine policy landscape is broader and changing more rapidly than at any point in its modern history, and those guiding it face a complex set of challenges to its continued success. "The ACIP and its processes for developing vaccine recommendations have served public health extraordinarily well for generations, especially during the pandemic. Then and throughout its history, the committee has provided an open, transparent, and rigorous expert forum for deliberating optimal vaccination strategies. Its work has guided health officials and strengthened public understanding of vaccines. The committee’s methods have been continuously refined and strengthened over time, most recently through the adoption of the Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development and Evaluation (GRADE) approach and Evidence to Recommendations (EtR) frameworks. In short, it would be difficult to overstate the ACIP’s contributions to the successes of the U.S. vaccination program throughout its history." Read the full article here: https://bit.ly/3zvitiD
