#Empowering women and girls Empowering Women and Girls and achieving gender equality are crucial to creating inclusive, open and prosperous societies. Gender inequalities, however, persist in many countries so it is important that we find new ways of addressing this issue. We contribute to this agenda by creating opportunities for dialogue to influence policies that benefit women and girls; work with partners to promote access and opportunity for women and girls and build the skills and confidence of women and girls to achieve their potential and have more influence over decisions that affect their lives. #UnitedLeadersglobal #SDG

Gender Equality in 2025: Are We Really Moving Forward? It’s almost 2025, and the stats tell a grim story: - 51,100 women lost to femicide in 2023. - 40% of women face restrictive abortion laws. - 708 million women unable to work due to unpaid care burdens. These are more than just numbers—they are lives affected by systemic inequalities. Achieving gender equality in 2025 is not just a goal; it’s a moral and economic imperative. Have you heard about SDGs before? If NO let me give you a little insight 😁 The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of 17 global goals established by the United Nations in 2015 to address a broad range of global challenges and achieve a more sustainable future by 2030. One of this SDGs is gender equality which is SDG number 5. SDG 5 which is Gender Equality, aims to achieving gender equality and empowerment of all women and girls. This goal focuses on ending discrimination, violence, and harmful practices against women and girls in all forms. It advocates for equal opportunities in education, employment, leadership, and political participation, while also ensuring access to sexual and reproductive health services. SDG 5 promotes reforms that grant women equal rights to economic resources and stresses the importance of policies and laws to achieving gender equality and recognizing that empowering women is key to achieving sustainable development in the society. I hope someone out there finds this little piece interesting…. #SDGs #sustainabledevelopment #genderequality #SDG5
