The €2 million investment will drive the further development of the Value Hub for CO₂ offloading and processing in #Rotterdam. The technology captures CO₂, stores it, and allows it to be effectively reused or stored elsewhere. In the Port of Rotterdam, the maritime industry benefits from emissions reduction enabled by the technology. Big news! 🎉 📣 The European Commission has announced the latest Innovation Fund results, awarding nearly €5 billion to 85 #cleantech projects. Among them, 11 CCS projects from across Europe were selected, contributing to the EU's goal of storing at least 50 million tonnes of CO2 annually. This is a strong step forward for scaling industrial carbon management (ICM) in Europe. Congratulations! 💚 Let’s highlight two of the projects: 🎉 €54 million support for #Innozhero, Öresundskraft and Helsingborg’s #CCS initiative! This initiative is set to capture and store around 200,000 tons of CO2 annually from Filbornaverket, playing a crucial role in Helsingborg's goal of reaching #net-zero emissions by 2030. Q3 Baltic Cleantech Landscape Report is Out! Here’s the summary for my fellow cleantech enthusiasts: * The Baltic cleantech sector had a 40% growth in investments this year, showing a strong comeback after a brief slowdown. * The main focus is creating more demand for cleantech and ensuring enough funding. This involves support from both the government and private companies to help cleantech grow and reach more people. * Estonia’s KWOTA stood out by winning the World Economic Forum’s Traceability for Circularity Challenge, showing how innovative recycling solutions can lead the way in the circular economy. Even with this progress, the sector still faces challenges, especially when it comes to finding enough money for companies to grow. But these numbers show we’re moving in the right direction. Ever timely, BZE's research release last week sums up a year of supply chain research and policy briefing papers. I am extremely proud as I continue to absorb the budget detail to see BZE's influence across multiple announced policies big and small. Sometimes small in $$ can be big on impact and while we see the production tax incentives take centre stage, the $23 million funding for the development of a National Circular Economy Framework is a clear signal that we have the future firmly in focus. As we set up the Future made in Australia, we need to map the end of life logistics for clean technologies now. This will allow us to design in resource recovery so that as these technologies come to the end of their life, we can recover valuable materials and reduce the impact of these industries. Each of our supply chain briefing papers include recommendations relating to the circular economy. Great news from Chromafora! An important step for the company which will help to tackle chemical pollution from PFAS.

Chromafora receives €22.5 million loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) (the European Union’s lending arm) to advance its technology for removing PFAS from water. This will allow the company to further develop and deploy water-treatment units at sites across Europe between 2024 and 2028.

Montea's commitment to Green Finance In our recent Green Finance Allocation and Impact Report, we showcased the strides made through our €615 million investments in Green Bonds and unsecured notes raised between 2021 and 2022. These funds were channeled exclusively into refinancing sustainable ventures, including eco-friendly buildings and renewable energy projects. The results speak volumes. By allocating these resources with purpose, we achieved an annual reduction of 28,112 tCO2e—equivalent to the CO2 absorption of 1,802 hectares of trees annually.
