"I need you to tone down the innovative spirit in you, stop always trying to make things better." As a female leader, these words hit me like a ton of bricks. Here's the thing: telling someone to "tone down" their drive to innovate isn't just bad feedback - it's dangerous. And it disproportionately impacts women in leadership. Why? Because the subtext is clear. "Don't rock the boat. Don't challenge the status quo. Don't be 'too much'." But here's the truth: Innovation IS disruptive. It DOES challenge norms. And that's exactly what makes it so valuable. When we discourage innovation, we don't just stifle individual creativity - we rob entire organizations of game-changing ideas. We signal that "good enough" is, well, good enough. But as leaders, "good enough" should never be our bar. We should always be striving for better, smarter, faster, stronger. So how do we change this narrative? It starts with checking our own biases. It means actively cultivating a culture where bold ideas aren't just tolerated - they're celebrated. And for my fellow women leaders, it means this: -> Keep being "too much." -> Keep rocking that boat. -> Keep bringing your full, innovative self to the table. Because the world needs your unbridled innovation now more than ever. So to whoever needs to hear this: Never tone down your genius. The rest of us are ready for you to turn it up. 🔊 If this resonates with you, don't keep it to yourself. ♻️ Hit repost. #innovation #leadership

One of the many things that fascinate me are stories of people, especially stories of women in leadership. No matter how many more women make it to the top, we’ll always need more of these. Every experience, so unique; Every challenge, so specific and Every approach, so insightful, these stories help me in so many ways, to learn, navigate and improve on my own qualities as a leader. Whether it’s “Becoming” by Michele Obama, “Lean In” by Sheryl Sandberg, “My Life in Full” by Indra Nooyi or this book I picked up at the airport on my way to London- “Good Power” by Ginni Rometty, former Chairman & CEO, IBM, each of them have been textbooks that push me to overcome any limiting beliefs. I’m currently in the middle of “Good Power” & Ginni’s journey, her ability to build resilience in the face of life’s adversities, her relentlessness and drive to continuously learn, her candour about mistakes & lessons, have helped me a great deal in charting my own journey. Most importantly, it has normalised the fact that I am always going to be a “WiP Leader”, we all are. We are going to make mistakes, learn new things, adapt, stagnate and find newer challenges to conquer. I’ve always said that Writing has been my safe space. Seems like reading stories about Women in Leadership could be another addition✨ #womeninleadership

CEO & Creator of ThriveHive Passport | Helping entrepreneurial women turn their professional experience into a thriving consulting business
Have you noticed that more companies are turning to powerful consultants to help them achieve their goals? (Studies from the Harvard Business Review, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), and McKinsey & Company back this up.) It’s a rising trend, and one I expect is here to stay. Companies benefit from a seasoned leader and industry expert at a fraction of the cost. Their teams benefit from the additional focus, direction, and experience - and performance goes up. Consultants and fractional leaders put their industry expertise to work, streamlining inefficient processes and casting visions for their clients (not to mention what they do for themselves!) Everybody wins. ✨ Women in high-impact leadership roles have more opportunities than ever to share their expertise, get paid what they’re worth, and serve others on their own terms. Which begs the question... If companies are turning to consultancies to meet their goals - WHY CAN’T YOU? Women consultants are the future of work. Is this YOUR future?
