🌍 Today, we shine a spotlight on IREN, a key co-investor at Tech4Planet. Iren is a leading multiutility company in the Northwest of Italy, engaged in the sectors of electricity, gas, district heating, energy efficiency, and the management of integrated water, environmental, and technological services. With over 11,000 employees, Iren serves a portfolio of more than 2 million energy sector customers, approximately 3 million residents in the integrated water cycle, and over 3.8 million in the environmental cycle. Iren's ambition is to be the go-to partner in its territory while also leading the ecological transition. Toward these ends, the Group launched an ambitious ten-year strategic plan in 2021, the most audacious in the history of the multiutility, updated in June 2024. With a commitment to invest €8.2 billion over the next 7 years by 2030, the strategy focuses on regulated network sectors, the development of new power generation capacity from renewable sources, plant development in the waste sector and the growth of the customer base. Tech4Planet, backed by CDP Venture Capital SGR, is excited to work with Iren as we tackle important environmental sustainability issues together. The unique opportunity to assist #NEOM in embedding ESG into its Supply Chain for the Giga Sustainability project sparked this pivotal change from the oil and gas sector to sustainability. Inspired by a brainstorming journey with innovative, collaborative individuals and sustainability-focused entities, we collectively explored impactful ways to contribute to sustainability. This effort led to the creation of the Global Centre of Excellence for Sustainability (GCES) 🌍, an initiative championing the circular economy, climate action, decarbonization, green infrastructure, and sustainable supply chain strategies across industries. Formation of #GCES 🌱 Entering the sustainability realm profoundly reshaped my thinking, steering efforts towards integrating sustainability into business operations. The GCES was launched to foster collaborations and drive impactful changes in sustainability practices. This includes: Partnering with decarbonization solutions to initiate or enhance #ESG journeys for various industries. 💡 Offering strategy, advisory, advocacy, and consulting services tailored to hard-to-abate industries. 🏭 Developing capabilities to reduce #Scope3 emissions through well-crafted strategies. 🌿 Promoting sustainable building materials and avoiding harmful substances in construction. 🏗️ Designing a robust #SSCM framework with sustainable sourcing, AI, RPA, Blockchain, Robotics, and ensuring regulatory compliance to reduce carbon footprints. 🤖 Partnering with organizations like ESG Malaysia, GreenRE Sdn Bhd, MISIF, EIC (Energy Industries Council), Malaysia OSV Owners’ Association (MOSVA) and Secretariat of MOGSC to advance sustainability practices. 🤝 Conferences, Exhibitions & Speaking Engagements 🎤 We proudly represented #BarrettoBD and #GCES at major #Energy and #Sustainability conferences, including Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), ADIPEC Exhibition and Conference, and Oil and Gas Asia (OGA), where we hosted sustainability partners at our own booth for the first time. Honourd to be appointed to ESG Malaysia's Advisory Panel for the Oil & Gas Industry, where we continue to elevate the knowledge & implementation of sustainable practices. We also formed our Malaysia Centre of Excellence for Sustainability #MCES with esteemed sustainability entities. Our brand-new Annual Review highlights key achievements and the impact of our ecosystem in advancing net-zero goals: ✅ Private Placement: Secured €140 million, attracting new strategic corporates and elevating our valuation to over US $1 billion, earning #Unicorn status. ✅ Industrial Value Chains: Led the European Battery Alliance, European Solar PV Industry Alliance, and European Green Hydrogen Acceleration Center, driving significant new industrial GDP in Europe. ✅ Company Builders: Launched new companies like Repono, GravitHy, HoloSolis and FertigHy, requiring €160 billion of equity and debt until 2030. ✅ Innovative Portfolio: Added 16 startups, executed 14 exits, and maintained a portfolio of 180 companies, projected to generate €110 billion in revenue and save 2.1G tonnes of CO2e by 2030.
