A former East German Stasi officer, Martin Naumann, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the 1973 murder of Polish man Czeslaw Kukuczka, who was attempting to flee to West Germany. The recent arrest of Mukmin Nantang, a Sabah-based activist and founder of Borneo Komrad, underscores the pressing need to abolish the outdated Sedition Act.
