From sleepless nights to strategic insights: What a ride it's being! 🎢 After joining a new position 4 months ago as chief executive mom, I've now returned to the business world with a new understanding of sleep and a keen eye on the future. Amongst catching up with Vandals work and my partner in crime Danae (who has been absolutely rocking it - kudos to you! ⭐), my return has been incredibly inspiring. Last week, I had the privilege of attending Norrsken Impact/Week and immersing myself in some thought-provoking talks. In my question-seeking nature, here are some insights and burning questions that keep circling in my mind: 📱 African Tech: The Next Frontier Cheslyn Jacobs from TymeBank shared how they're investing on access in a market where 90% of retail transactions are informal and cash-based. - They've built the largest retail network without laying a single brick - partnering with South Africa's largest retail store and setting up kiosks - Fascinating stat: 75% of customers come through that channel, with 55% of their customer base being women The questions that fueled me up: - What would truly drive digital currency adoption in such a setting? - Covid was definitely a force for it yet there's a lot of ground to cover. Does it take a major life event for that rapid adoption? 🧠 MDMA Therapy Revolution Rick Doblin's ongoing journey to get MDMA-assisted therapy approved for PTSD is fascinating. Through Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) they have been working since the 80's on advancing research, changing policy and shaping culture. - What do you think are the main roadblocks for recreational drugs to be used in therapy? - Will younger generations approach these treatments more willingly? 🌍 Redefining Economic Value The Landbanking Group's Prof. Dr. Martin R. Stuchtey journey has been remarkable - from "making the system better, to working on a better system, and now defining what better means for the system to adopt it." His vision of an economy indexed on nature, where nature is considered equity, not credit, challenges our fundamental understanding of value. The profound questions he raises: - What is wealth in this new paradigm? - Are we still in the same epoch of wealth as the existing one? - How do we transition to a system where nature becomes a form of equity rather than an expendable resource? 💭 Your Turn: Which of these questions resonates with you? Any thoughts? Whether you want to challenge these thoughts, discuss other pressing questions, or just share some baby wisdom (yes, I'm now fluent in that too! 👶), my DMs are open. Let's make today count! #FutureOfBusiness #MentalHealth #AfricanTech #DigitalInclusion #CircularEconomy #WomenInTech #NorrskenImpactWeek #ThoughtLeadership #BackToWork
