Wonderful opening reception of James Kuol Makuac's exhibition 'my heart is strong because I walked on blistered feet' at Begonia Labs last night. This exhibition is a part of the Engine for Art Democracy and Justice (EADJ) team's 'Somewhere We are Human' fall programming. Our Nashville Refuge project, led by Jonathan Rattner, is being showcased at the exhibit. The touchscreen will allow exhibit attendees to navigate through the stories of several refugees living in Nashville, intermixing documentary clips with interactive maps, historical research, and satellite imagery. The exhibition will be on view Sept 24-Nov 15 at Begonia Labs at 2805 West End Ave, Nashville, TN 37203. The gallery is open to the public M-F 3-6pm.
